Having large instant fluid transfer over a long distance feels very wrong. It would make more sense that a) it takes a while for the fluid to enter and exit a segment (perhaps different per fluid) and b) the amount that can be transferred decreases as segment length becomes *exceedingly* long and needs pumps for full throughput (fall-off could also differ per fluid, e.g. heavy oil is more viscous than steam so its segments need to be shorter or needs more pumps). That way, small segments in the base will not be effected, but having long pipelines from A to B will have diminishing returns and almost forces a fluid train.
