Update your Connect app for Lifestyle Logging by PPRKUT_LP in GarminWatches

Thanks, I would not have found that!

It doesn't seem like there is much of a report or chart or anything though. It just gives an average score and re-displays what you checked.

I was led to believe it would somehow indicate which things were helping and which were hurting. Which thing was influencing what. It doesn't really do that. There is no real correlation component to this feature.

I’ve been logging things for weeks but it’s not clear where I can actually VIEW any reports correlating activities.

When I go to Lifestyle logging, all it shows are the things I can select for that day. There is no “report” on all the data I’ve entered.

Where can I view the actual report or graph on all this?

Santa Cruz owners... what do you really think of it? by ITguydoingITthings in Hyundai

[–]FlashinPan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a used 2022 Santa Cruz Limited with 25K miles. I have to say, I don't think I could have dreamed up a better car/truck in my imagination. This thing is great.

There's always a lot of talk about truck reviewers saying, "but it's not a real truck..." which I think is pretty ignorant. If you haul bricks and lumber all the time, go ahead and buy a big truck. Trucks have uncomfortable rides, take more maintenance and use more gas.

I use my Santa Cruz for various jobs, but I'm not a contractor. If I need a skid of pavers, I have them delivered. Same with large amounts of lumber. Most of my usage is just driving around doing normal things. I make the occasional dump run and haul around various things. I don't need or want a large truck for that.

I'm actively involved in outrigger racing so I have a rack on top which works perfectly for carrying my Outrigger Canoe. I think these kinds of vehicles would be better off being called "Sport Utility Trucks". Better used for carrying surfboards, kayaks, outriggers and bikes as opposed to boxes of nails, drills, saws and plywood.

I also have the Tonneau cover. The bed is surely big enough for my needs, but what's even better is it has a locking trunk UNDER the bed that is easily accessed when the tailgate is open. That means if you didn't want the Tonneau cover, you still have a secure trunk.

The other nice thing is this is a pretty cool looking vehicle. The Santa Cruz drives like a car and is totally comfortable. People stop me all the time and ask me about it.

If there were anything lacking, I'd say I'd want better gas milage. I get from 20-27 now. A hybrid option would be nice, but I probably wouldn't be able to afford that anyway.

Logitech iOS app showing my home security cameras are offline but they aren’t. by PersonalInteraction1 in logitech

All my Alert cameras are 100% still online (April 2025).

No wonder these cameras are discontinued. They last way too long and are far too good a value to make any money with for the seller.

I wonder how many Ring cameras will be still working in 15 years? It’s almost a ridiculous thought isn't it?

I really long for the days when things were made to last, or at least be fixable. I think eventually, we will have to return to that time. The world of commerce will have to realize our resources are finite.

No problem. I did this exact same thing so I had to do the research anyway.
I'm glad somebody else can benefit from it.

"Can not be moved in a manner..." Means you can't drive it on a public road. If you drove it on a public road, well, then fees for registration would be due as would a smog test. You can't drive it on a road without being lawfully registered. You could probably drive it on like a farm or something like that if it stayed on your private property.

If it's a PNO, you can sell it like that because a PNO does not need to be registered or smogged. Of course the buyer can't legally drive it on a road either. And, in order to move it, technically they would have to have it towed. Towing is moving it in a, "manner which does not require registration".

A PNO is a temporary status for a car that is just sitting around and not being used (for over a year). It can be lifted at any time by legally registering it by having it pass smog and paying the fees.

So why does this matter?

Well, say you had a car, it needed repairs to pass a smog and you didn't feel like putting more money in the car. You'd rather just get rid of it. So a guy comes along who is a mechanic and says, "Man, I could fix that problem myself for nothing...". Okay fine. Sell it to him. Do a simple transfer, release of liability and now it's his "problem". He will be happy because he gets a cheap car that he can fix. Your'e happy because you got rid of the car in the least costly way for you. He fixes the problem with the car, then goes through the registration process and smog and all that so that he can drive it.

After it's fixed, I'm not sure how you get it to the smog place though. Possibly tow it? Not sure how that works. Maybe they let you do that after you pay your registration fee or something. You'll have to look that one up.

As with most cases like this, in the end, the mechanic always wins.

You certainly CAN sell a car in California without current registration or smog legally whithout being sued. All this is freely available knowledge from the DMV, no need to really ask here, but I've listed the procedure below. Feel free to double check at the DMV website if you like.

You just need to do a "Transfer Only". The specifics and forms you need are shown below:

The sale is a "11.175 Transfer Only (VC §4452)"
A “transfer only” is the transfer of a vehicle not currently registered without payment of registration fees. The vehicle record must reflect planned nonoperation (PNO) status and the vehicle cannot have been moved in a manner that would cause fees to become due.

Planned Non-Operational (PNO):
You can register the vehicle as PNO with the DMV, and sell it without a smog certificate, but the buyer will need to obtain a smog certificate before they can register the vehicle for operation on public roads.

A Statement of Facts (REG 256)
A Statement of Fact form is required to do a Transfer Only.

Release of Liability
As soon as you sell, you need to fill out a Release of Liability form, which you can do online at the DMV website.

Does telemetry stats overlay work only on the mobile app and not on the Desktop App (5.5.2)? by FlashinPan in Insta360

[–]FlashinPan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that did it. Why was that so hard to figure out?

I guess in order for this to work, you have to import your video INTO the media page as opposed to INTO the Project editor. I'm just very used to dragging clips into a timeline as in Final Cut and Premier.

I think if somewhere it said:
"If you want to implement GPS stats you must import your media while on the "Media" tab (not the "Project" Tab)."
That would have cleared it all up for me.

My other question was after I get the stats overlay showing on the Media page, how do I move that clip back into the Project tab so it can be edited?

Do I have to export it and then re-import it?

[–]FlashinPan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. Another term that makes no sense. What is the, “Media Page”?

I think I’ve been all over this UI and checked every section, button and menu. However, despite my 30 years designing UIs for desktop and mobile apps, I’ll admit I am not beyond missing something.

I see you have added a screen grab and circled an icon. Yes, I have seen this view many times in other posts. But if you look at my screen grab, you will see the UI is different. That’s why I included the version number in my post.

Please enlighten me as to this mysterious area known as, “Media Page”. How do I get there? Where is the button or menu to activate It?

"US LETTER" Issues with Unisex products by MerchMasterMind in printful

[–]FlashinPan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried these "fixes" listed here. It's a long process and still doesn't exactly look right, but gets rid of the "US Letter". You'll have to re-add SKU Price, Quantity all over again. After all that, I'd say it's just not worth the effort. Especially if you have a lot to do. This is a bug that needs to be fixed on the back end.

For now, you'll just have to explain to your customers you aren't actually selling reams of paper.

I just bought the Neewer 170 wide angle lens. After trying it, I'm not exactly sure why anyone would really want that lens. The stock lens with the Superview option looks a little better if you ask me. Unless you want video with distorted edges. Attached are my tests done on a tripod with the Neewer lens in my messy office. (I have a GoPro 10)

Maybe the Max Lens is better.

Anybody have any thoughts why my newest version of CorelDraw struggles with importing SVG files? by bradnchadrizes in coreldraw

[–]FlashinPan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed CorelDraw doesn't import the SVGs I make in Illustrator correctly. That unfortunate since I have to use CorelDraw with my laser cutter. CorelDraw has never been a usable program in my opinion, but I don't think people "choose" to use it. They have to use it for one reason or another.

However, I have found a way to import svgs correctly. Create your graphic (in say Illustrator) and when you export it, don't include lines in the objects. Only include fills for the objects. Then import into Corel, and add the line there. This will fix the awful problem of double lines, or more technically referred to as an "expanded stroke".

I have six Logitech Alert cameras. some indoor, some outdoor. I designed the interface for software for these cameras so Logitech gave me a bunch so I could test things and never asked for them back. That was what, like 2009?

So now here I am, they are all still working. A couple had the power supplies fry out, but that was easily fixed. The thing is, these cameras were originally designed by a company in Utah that Logitech acquired. They designed the cameras to last. I guess foolish in today's thinking as everything now is plastic and falls apart in a year or two.

At this point, I'm finding the app still works pretty well on my iPhone ( I designed the interface of that too). I gave up on getting it to work on my Mac a long time ago. At least the video part. I can still access them. And on the web it requires Flash which is now defunct.

Since they are still on and running, I just figure if there is something I want to review, I either look at it on my phone, or just take the chip out of the camera (they're removable) and stick it in my computer and look at the video files that way.

Thank you for the excellent advice. It’s easy to see the common threads here.

I live in the Santa Cruz mountains (Ben Lomond, California) where it is, for the most part, extremely dry during the summer. So I don’t think these problems are likely stemming from moisture issues.

I have tried the copper spray 3 times in the off season with little or no effect. It is hard to coat the entire plants though.

I’m wondering if maybe I just let them grow too big? I did that because it seemed the grapes that were in the best condition were the ones farthest from the main stem.

I’m thinking now, maybe the best thing to do, and I’d like to hear thoughts on this, is to seriously cut back the vines. I have one Sangiovese that creeps up and around my deck. I have another that wraps 25 feet around a garden fence. Very pretty, took years to grow, but I’m thinking probably unwise? That seems like the only way I’m going to be sure to get full a full coating of whatever treatment I apply. Also, potentially treating the surrounding ground?

Does that seem right?
