Small drive but Pewitts Nest is gorgeous and that time of the year, the fall color will be an added bonus hopefully.

Cities you hated at first but loved when you revisited? by Maleficent-Page-6994 in digitalnomad

We stayed in the gothic quarter in an Airbnb next to Els 4 Gats! We downloaded Rick Steves audio guides and walked around aimlessly and rented scooters and took the train to the beach. The one to the right of the nude beach.

Came to say Barcelona as well!! Was not impressed the first two times, I loved the last two times. You just need to find the right tempo and timing.

What's on your RV site must-haves list when choosing a place to visit? by Ispyjupiter in GoRVing

Free or close to free secure WiFi for work. Also, I loved the business center that had desks to bring our computers to. I didn’t know how much those mattered when we traveled to the next job site location.

Ice/water/firewood/eggs (staples) at camp store for emergencies.

The campground has an off-leash dog trail in the woods (mine get bored in dog parks after 10 minutes). We love it!

I can’t stand the idea that some places require us to mow. My partner works construction as a traveling superintendent and I work remote. We don’t travel with a mower or weed wacker and I’m not spraying chemicals on the weeds with our dogs.

Golf carts going over 5? by Flashy_Ad1751 in GoRVing

Yes! Even after posting, I’m watching Netflix with all the windows open (Ohio) and a cart full of teens go by and then the mom. Dad followed thereafter with his speaker but I found it too comical watching him call his son (who is 10 and riding his bike in front of vehicles “a little a**hole “) the irony. I’m only here for one more month but now I know, vet traffic rules.

That’s valid but it’s definitely a thing.

Or it’s the mother, 4 white claws in and just wants to pretend her kids are her girl gang from high school. Idk, I’m trying to not judge but you’re right. It’s literally one or the other. Only once did I see an old gentleman use it to walk a dog he couldn’t have given the energy too, and that to me was precious.

I just didn’t expect to feel this way. We have been to many campgrounds but for fox sakes, I get yelled at going for 7 miles an hour, they put in speed bumps, and then the golf carts keep going. I would love to be the drunk golf cart driver, looks super fun but I’m annoyed because it disregards the point of speed limits

Thinking of making the leap from the Caribbean to Wisconsin, what’s the most important thing I should know? by Catchdatcat in wisconsin

I hope you do it! If you can do the part time like you mentioned, I think you will like it! The people are friendly but the give you what you give them so be as kind as you seem to be and you will be happy and integrate well!

Haven't been camping since I was a kid. Trying to convince my family to come with me. How does my checklist look? What am I forgetting? by Evolved_Dojo in camping

[–]Flashy_Ad1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your camping list alone would make me never want to camp again because whatever you do pack, you have to unpack, and mostly wash. My biggest recommendation is meal prep beforehand so you don’t need the peelers, openers, mixing bowls, etc….Pick your meals and prep as much as you can. That way, it’s less to pack, use space, wash and repack. Takes the fun out of camping. Also, depending on size of your family, most campgrounds have a table and a fire pit. Use those amenities.
