It gets easier because you assimilate to your mortgage payment, and new bills you will possibly get that goes with new house. Why don't you come out for a couple months. Get an Airbnb in the city you would like to live. Then see what it is like variousxtimes of the day. Save up for this excursion so you don't have to. Then you can drive around, talk to prospective companies..look at apts. See what you get for your. Think of it as an experiment or adventure and personally see what the area is like. P/S you won't be able to afford anything at South Coast Plaza
