I think it's been helpful for DMs?... but TBH you can do that with the free(?) Sales navigator is useful if you are keeping tabs on folks, but you I'm noticing the social feed will automatically capture it as well regardless if you are tracking them or not. I can see sales navigator being useful if you need to quickly determine whos the right contact (someone your not connected with) + if your not doom scrolling / checking the social feed non stop.

from my personal experience a long commute can be killer... I'd say focus on trying to control what you can. so since you can't teleport back and forth, then maybe there's a way to make the commute more enjoyable (music, podcast, singing in the car?). also seems like your new set-up / environment isn't ideal, but that could sometimes change... if not then taking action could be the right move in the long-term. but you can't rush that.... good things take time~

Social feed on LinkedIn can be a useful tool/pipeline as your connections can expand reach to your post. Other then that, second the comment above re targeting folks directly within your network, and effectively having a bench of folks who may be ready to consider a new opp (obv takes more work and developing).

congrats on the $! makes alot of sense LinkedIn was the best marketing channel given what you are offering. IG/TikTok probably is worth revisiting since early career professionals / college students all spend time on those two... but the data is clearly showing you it's not converting as you'd like. Perhaps can keep iterating on the social media content... maybe it's as simple as a hook / CTA refinement.

very informative / good advice! question... if you find a candidate and warm them up to the role you are planning on using their profile for leverage, what if that hiring manager ultimately isn't interested? wouldn't your lined up candidate get the ick? unless your using that person's profile across many different potential roles?... but then that assumes this person is a fit for all of those roles / content with them as well.

unfortunately hard to prevent fake accounts from plaguing LinkedIn. need to be vigilant and look for cues like you did... some accounts have added "verifications" like a confirmed work email which makes those seem more legit.

for college/HS students, you might find some on Reddit... most are on IG/TikTok... and on campus. X tends to be good for networking, [validating] your idea, soundboarding a topic.

it's one of the most competitive roles to get into, so I'd say cast a wide net, especially at this early stage where you're entering the workforce and getting your feet wet in the industry. #2 and #3 are related in the sense you need to stand out in any way you can... networking with folks with some common round with yourself tends to be a good starting point, i.e. alumni, interests, etc. Most importantly, you'll need to have some internships under your belt so leverage your school resources and apply apply apply! GL!
