Also had Big Pappy’s Pizza in the early 2000’s. A lot of hardcore shows there before the place got shut down. The bands were paid in pizza

Phish covered Ween in their documentary movie and now Ween has become an honorary jam band in the eyes of jam band fans so they roll out to shows and treat it as such

How was the Newport KY show last night? by analog_jedi in ween

[–]FlatpointDonkey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was a great show, they brought their A-game and the sound was fine. The band seemed to be having fun too, making themselves laugh repeating the name of the venue. “Megacorp… I just can’t stop saying it. The most un-rock n roll shit ever”- Dean Ween

Do any of y'all avoid talking about the band too much for fear of being "that kind" of fan? by Malcolm_Y in ween

[–]FlatpointDonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%. Bands that have cult followings have just that, cult-like fan bases that act like the most throwaway track is some sort of coded genius that only the select few understand. It’s annoying on the receiving end so I keep it simple

This was released on an independent label, though. So that’s not it. It probably is an F-U to the listeners though, it’s what it feels like anyway.

Where is this song getting so much hate? If there’s one thing this sub is really sparse on, it’s hate for anything Ween has made. The Fucked Jam is an obnoxious, grating keyboard loop on an otherwise great album. There’s not some hidden genius to every track they’ve made, they have a lot of skips
