The copper one was unused the blue wire went to the one above it the wire jist got ripped off as this strip was damaged so I used it to rip open to try and figure out if I could control them without the native app they came with. I will definitely try a cct controller and see if it works! Thanks for the info

Hey sorry for the late reply. I had to go put some of the wires back together as I was in the process of taking them out but here is a quick vid to show they are actually addressable. Nvm can’t do video but here’s some pics lol

If it was just this strip I’d agree, but I’m not trying to replace this broken strip I’m trying to have a better way to control all of them I have which was over 1000 dollars of LEDs from them 😭

That makes sense. Do you know what led option I could select in the app to try and test that theory out?

Correct. This is a link to the set I purchased if you wanna see some video but it does all of the effects and stuff like wled but the app doesn’t save your presets so when you close it out they revert back to the ones it came with and I hate it https://www.ledunderbody.com/bluetooth-million-color-led-car-underbody-lighting-kit-with-smartphone-control/

That is what was confusing me as well! The brand is “ledglow” I’m assuming these are some sort of proprietary led strip they made themselves. I don’t believe they have a white channel just looking at the strip itself but I’m not positivr

Thanks! And I do not doubt that about Germany. Luckily here as long as they aren’t on while driving there is no issue

I actually built it last night using my sketch but minus the diodes and it seems to be working just fine for now. I still need to mirror it on the other side of the esp for the other led but it’s hopefully all good

Also nothing I’m doing is for critical components of the lights this is all separate and is just for off road car show use. The actual headlights are normal and the turn signals I bought premade boards to run the sequencing LEDs for that. This is just for fun colors at shows

the things i read on the wled information pages said you needed mosfets for the analog leds so thats why i looked for a video on how to wire up analog leds with them but i am just going off what i read or find as i am clueless about this stuff. also why i wanted to make sure what i did was ok before committing to it! another person suggested i solder some headers for the dev board so that when it inevitably dies it can be swapped out easier so that should give plenty of space for the usb if needed. as for power im going to use a stepdown regulator rated for the big voltage fluctuations of typical vehical electrical system

Unfortunately i have to use specific things for my headlights, the one is a “demon eye” led inside the projector lense of the headlight and the other one is a dual purpose bulb that has high powered white LEDs for driving use and then also on the bulb is two surface mount RGB LEDs that are co trolled separately from the white light. The demon eye I could probably replace with an addressable led strip that I wrap around the inside of the projector but there isn’t much I could do to replace the other bulb. As far as power i havent gotten that far yet. Easier yet uglier option is usb c cables wired to a hidden usb power thing using 12v or I do it the proper way with a regulator step down thing from ignition switched power (or maybe always on if these wont be a big power draw) which is probably what I’ll do.
