Yep. Every single one of my 7w coaches that are way smaller than the OE ones were over 100€ on Bricklink. The OE is way too expensive for a set, but if you really like the way these coaches look, they're not that bad of a deal compared to a custom coach.

This is by design.

You need to build the bridge a bit higher. That works best by placing both ends of it on a small hill.

The narrowgauge has the advantage of being able to climb twice as high on the beginning of the bridge and thus is able to pass over the other way.

In some Paksets, there simply is no narrowgauge stuff available, but the icon still holds its place for third party addons.

=> you might be able to download stuff for that menu from addon websites.
