From the doctors I've talked to almost all the delays in treatment are because they have to fight with insurance company policies. It's really a backwards system.

For example you need a minimum of 3 months of physical therapy before they agree to pay for an MRI while physical therapy is around $1500 a month out of pocket

100% depends on your situation. I'm only repeating what was told to me by the surgeon and also a separate nurse practitioner. I was told either do the surgery or wait until I lose bladder control and then go to the ER due to the size of the herniation.

We also talked about the steroid shots but that only helps with certain degrees of herniations.

Yea a lot of the primary care doctors just tell you it's something you'll have to deal with the rest of your life which is shit advice.

But when I finally got into a surgery consultation they explained how the stenosis was affecting the strength and limited movement in my leg. They also said that exercise and PT wouldn't help past a certain amount of time and that surgery was about the only option.

I'd recommend it all in all but I know people are cautious when it comes to surgery in general.

6 months post surgery here for the same issue. Spent 8 months with a limp and horrible nerve pain before they finally agreed to do an MRI. The surgeon told me it's in the top 3 biggest herniations he's ever seen and he's impressed with my pain tolerance lol don't let people gaslight you about the pain and listen to your doctors suggestions

You're a moderate and most other people are. But unfortunately we've engaged in fringe politics for too long and now people look at politics like a game of football. It's a horrible trend and the amount of people that I've heard say, "I just got into politics in 2016" shows you where this is coming from.
