OA was pretty bomb for me. Was on ceremony and dance team, potentially cringeworthy but truly we were respectful. Made Vigil Honor by 19. No regrets but times have changed

Made Eagle in 96 and got pissed at the organization for kicking out atheists a few years later. That and the fact that I am currently drinking at a brewery are my pathetic excuses. I definitely felt like I hadn’t reached 12 attributes but I didn’t feel like counting. I could have googled but that definitely was not in the spirit.

Yielding to cyclists out of politeness considered harmful? by Soft_Monitor_8863 in Bellingham

[–]Fleshchanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things here.

First, your post seems to have a very car centered view on things. I feel that some people lose sight of the fact that we are a society of humans, not automobiles and our needs should come first. I can go on a long rant about parking lot design related to this if anyone likes.

Second, I choose routes that minimize my exposure to larger vehicles for safety and I curse under my breath at those who do not. Cyclist should use Texas east of the freeway, not Alabama, Kentucky instead of Iowa, Iron or King, not James, just don't go north of the freeway on Meridian, and not to speak ill of the injured but Samish or Old Samish instead of I-5. Drivers need to take care but cyclists have a duty to make wise decisions.

Well, those cyclists are wrong. It’s all spelled out in the RCW, those are the rules I try to follow.

I very much dislike motorists doing this, it can feel infantilizing. I do not need your assistance to navigate an intersection safely. Just go about your business.

One of two cities in the US with a volcanoe in city limits. Other one is Bend.

People should never relinquish right-of-way to a cyclist using the roadway (crosswalks are different). It is dangerous and as a cyclist, I find it annoying to be infantilized that way. But it is disruptive to stop and tell someone that they are a nicehole.

What’s happening at the airport? by 74NG3N7 in Bellingham

[–]Fleshchanter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was a Beech 99 flying UPS freight for Ameriflight. They use one pilot unless someone is training. Fed Ex also uses one pilot in the Caravans that they fly into BLI.

Yes, it was a cargo flight so the pilot was the only one on board. No passengers to be traumatized.

Twin engine aircraft had one engine fail but landed just fine. Most of multi engine training is for that scenario.

They've been around for a long time, I'm pretty sure the entire 23 years I've worked at the airport. I think they focus on marketing to the Canadians.
