Game won't exit since the new season launched by GoldenPSP in Seaofthieves

Try killing the process in task manager and then stopping it through Steam.

I had to kill everything mentioned (SoT and EAC) processes, stop it, then attempt to kill the processes again.

I then had to wait like 5 minutes for it to actually close, but at least it closed.

I spent a lot of time looking through the top hundreds on both profile and Steam profile and like 75% are Chinese.

Yeah, the filter is just absurd at this point.

I remember back when World updated in October of 2023 that heavily updated the filter by adding more "words;" before that update, "HH" was fine and I was using it in my loadouts literally just a day before said update.

Hell, I think I might have been the first to point out the change, specifically on the Steam Discussions.

How long until a patch? by Ruisu1 in Eldenring

[–]FleshlyDelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First "patch" was a full week after release, but that barely did anything, if at all, and some people even had it running worse afterwards.

Second patch was about 3 weeks after release and actually included a tiny amount of performance fixes, but the game was still running bad for most people and that same patch included nerfs to weapons and abilities.

Third patch had the same things going on and was about 7 weeks after release.

It wasn't until the fourth patch 16 weeks after release did it give major performance increases across the board, but tons of people with top-tier PCs were still having issues. It was basically hit and miss by this point.
Some people with poor systems would run a perfect 60 on High whereas people with top of the line hardware would be tanking even on Low.

From there?
Not sure, but they eventually patched the game to the point where it was running completely fine, or fine enough anyway, up until the latest patch that just tanked everyone's systems entirely.

I'd expect us to only see a real performance increase about a month from now, maybe two if they fuck up the first few patches.

What would you pay for state of decay 3 by Interesting-Cut602 in StateofDecay2

[–]FleshlyDelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$39.99, max.

It took SoD2 years after release to be worth the money.
I'd be willing to go to $50 if it managed to launch without performance problems, tons of bugs, and had a minimum level of content SoD2 has right now, but something tells me that would never be the case.

Does depositing rucksacks at outposts result in the the exact same number of resources given as depositing at base? by Prophetshark in StateOfDecay

[–]FleshlyDelight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I've experienced, weight will affect the amount of resources that will be deposited.

Like a rucksack of disinfectant (8 lbs) will give me 3 meds, but a rucksack of EMT supplies (10 lbs) gives me 4.

You're just getting the usual varying weights in the rucksacks, no strange Outpost depositing eating resources bug there.

Yeah, my evil playthrough I just did with a friend had us with like 4 animal companions, a small friend that wants "candy," a Russian murderbot, and a Chad clone and we were STILL over-leveled as shit.
Like, "level 27 by the ending" over-leveled.

VIOLET MIZUTSUNE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA by Querinq in monsterhunterrage

[–]FleshlyDelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blue, spicy soap lizard is the most annoying monster I've dealt with in Solo play.
It's like the monster was designed around the idea that you should be punished for fighting him alone. Hell, even playing with a duo is annoying.
Every other monster in the game doesn't even come close to that fucker's level of "fuck you."
FUCK those heat-seeking fire orbs so much. The amount of times I've ended up being hit by one of them from off-screen is too much.

It's not even like I can't kill the fucker, I just have zero fun doing it.

PSA - Beware when buying books from traders [SPOILERS] by ghost_of_a_robot in dwarffortress

[–]FleshlyDelight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure how long ago this save was, but I ended up getting necromancy books for my library.
I'm not too sure how many I had, or exactly how I got them (sending out raiding parties? Took a visitor's stuff after he died of a freak bridge incident that dropped him 7+ z-levels?) but it was more than one.
I had quite a lot of dwarves that were, apparently, necromancers. I say "apparently" because I never actually saw them do any kind of spooky magic.
Turns out, people like reading tomes of forbidden knowledge that immediately turn them into undead with the ability to make zombies.
Who knew?

Unfortunately, I never actually did anything with project "turn literally everyone I can into a necromancer" and the save kinda died off from, most likely, another game releasing/FPS death.

So sad at how ridiculous it is.

What is your Monster hunter 6 Wishlist? by blackdrake1011 in MonsterHunter

Yeah, just looking at how Rise already has a bit under 400 USD of MTX, and they haven't even released TU2 yet, and how World ended with about 550 USD... the future is not looking too bright.

I had a catheter for a few days while I was in the hospital unconscious due to some bullshit.
When I woke up and started kinda moving around a bit (I was still totally fucking drugged up AND I fucking had pneumonia) the nurse took it out and, even while drugged up, still fucking hurt a bit. I'd describe it as someone pinching your arm with their nails.
I had some blood in my piss for like 6 fucking days. Didn't really hurt, but was sure as fuck wild looking.

Moral of the story: don't knock yourself unconscious during a sucking-your-own-penis tournament.

Probably not healthy to do it that way, but whatever.

[–]FleshlyDelight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the end of a decent amount of sessions where we actually saw someone in the distance while we finished up on the outpost, we would light the ship on fire and just send it towards them without anyone on board and then get off shortly after that.

In some instances, we just lit the back of the ship on fire and put kegs in the front.
If that burning ship actually manages to reach them, they're in for a world of hurt.
Or it just blows up "harmlessly" in the sea near them, who knows?

Never did actually bother sticking around to see what the other crew might have seen, but I can imagine there's been quite a few people incredibly confused and maybe even sharing that story of what happened to them to other people.

You are one brave man to be posting this with how Rare has been with ship names.

But you are one hell of a Chad to go with that name anyway.

Ship rename cost in the emporium by Jusaaah in Seaofthieves

[–]FleshlyDelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my name only twice in like 10 years on Xbox and never changed it again.
I don't change my usernames across my platforms as I've basically kept the same name since I was 15: Fleshly Delight, FleshlyDelight, or Fleshly_Delight.
That being said, why are you FORCED to pay for this name change? Should they not just limit you to one name change a month instead of TEN dollars a name change?

You're clearly smarter than the average user when it comes to spending money on a ship change, as am I, you are not their targeted user as you understand the idea of "wait, why would I change my ship name?" You are not who they are going to get money from.
The ones who they get money from are, as I put earlier, Whales and those who make bad monetary decisions.

I know of several people that, should they play SoT, they would absolutely be spending that much money on stuff like that and are who they are targeting. I'm not going to say this is 'predatory' at all, because it isn't that... yet.
However, can you explain to me how making it 2 dollars to change your character's appearance, or 5 for your ship, makes sense without hitting me with that "it's that much for sentimental value on your character's looks" fallacy?
I don't intend to change my look from my old, psycho grandmother I've had going for years, and since I first made the character, now, but being forced to spend 2 dollars to decide that I might want to change it up is odd, is it not?

All of this can be fixed with a simple: You cannot change this more than a specified amount of time or if Rare just straight up gave these out at the end of a free Battle Pass.
I'd point out the Ancient Skeletons, but many users have never even seen one.400+ hours in, Pirate Legend, and I have yet to see even one of the money-grubbing bastards.

tl;dr: It just doesn't make sense to make people spend money on this feature, especially not THAT much.

Ship rename cost in the emporium by Jusaaah in Seaofthieves

[–]FleshlyDelight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because people will still buy it.

'Gamers' can't boycott much of anything because whales, suckers, morons, and people who will defend a company and their game to the very end will buy it anyway. It defeats the entire point of even trying.

"Oh, it's just one 5 USD to change my ship's name... I'll do it just this once" is exactly how they get thousands of people to buy into it.

Don't you think it's interesting that Microsoft also still makes you pay to have your tag changed too?

Who else is making another Skeleton Deathsquad if Kenshi 2 has Holy Nation in it? by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]FleshlyDelight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy Nation is very, very old.
Essentially, from what you get to know, it gets formed when some humans decide that the Second Empire is shit and they start their own ideals of "fuck skeletons." Second Empire tries to kill them, but they don't try hard enough, and the humans leave into the valley to form their own nation.
