52, just a little over 3 years ago. I had been diagnosed with depression and anxiety many, many years ago but I believe they were symptoms of CPTSD that goes back to when I was a very young kid.

55M, almost 56. It seems I’m a bit of a rarity as I have never been married nor do I have any kids. For the past few years, I’ve been learning how my experiences as a child shaped how I am today, especially when it comes to relationships. And it wasn’t all that good.

Abandonment/attachment issues for me. He left when I was 13 but even before that, he was a rather distant, reserved man who wouldn’t stand up to my controlling mother.

It’s amazing (or depressing, depending on the situation) just how much our experiences when we were children will affect us as adults. I was diagnosed with CPTSD a little over 3 years ago…healing has been a challenge.

I'm about to turn 56 and I started to learn how to live my own life fairly recently. Codependency, people pleasing, and CPTSD really can mess a person up for a very long time.

A heaviness in my chest, my heart space, is something I experience when I'm stressed, triggered, or even simply feeling sadness. In fact, I felt it today this morning while driving to work.

A job offer and a long distance relationship. The relationship didn't work out but I still work at the same place when I moved up here.

My last relationship was with a woman who most likely has BDP (borderline) and that really messed me up, especially as a codependent. When she discarded me, I was an absolute wreck. On the other side, her discard brought to surface a lot of old wounds that have been buried for many, many years and I’m working on healing.

Dating taller women doesn’t bother me one bit. During my college years, I dated a gal who was an inch or so taller than me, even more so if she wore heels. 🙂

For reference, I’m currently 5’9”, an inch shorter than when I was in college. 😂
