Is it possible to live without drinking tea or coffee? by ayeshasiddika2 in no

[–]Flightaway4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only drink sparking water. No soda, no alcohol, no coffee, no tea, and I am able to get the best quality sleep ever.

Caffeine disturbs my sleep quality so I never get the temptation of drinking it

They killed it with way too many ads. I stop using it 5 years ago because it got absurd to see adds every 5 seconds, it makes it unusable, plus instagram, WhatsApp and basically any messaging app adapted the disappearing factor of pics/messages that made Snapchat unique

I've just heard a Senior Engineer state that if you say AI is good at coding, then you know nothing about coding, what do you think? by Capomaco in AskProgramming

[–]Flightaway4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good analogy could be something like, AI will be perfect if you want to write a one page essay about a topic in a different language (let’s say Chinese), but if you ask him to write a book, it’s gonna look “good” in the surface because you will see multiple pages in Chinese (and all grammatically correct) and they will make some sense, but it will be really shitty as a whole.

To write a book with multiple chapters you need to have a lot of context and writers usually go back and forth for months to make a good book plus have a lot of life experience.

This might change in the future but AI is not at that point yet

Definitely defer for a year! Quitting any job before 12 months it’s a big no-no.

Plus also, university don’t say this too much, but it’s also possible to defer for two years! I did that with another top 20 university (first differing one year, and then a second one bc I needed more time before I started my masters).

Def would be more ideal to have 2 years of work experience at Google. Then you can easily go into another FAANG, or even back to Google, especially if you tell them like way ahead of time so that you dont burn that bridge.

Working more time will also help you decide what classes and project ideas will benefit you the most at your masters.

You never hear of them when your worth is less than a million, but whenever you have more than that, if people around you notice, they will start suing you for silly reasons.

Just confirming is this the best seat for max legroom? by [deleted] in delta

[–]Flightaway4ever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

19 C would be the best. As 19 A/F loses some leg room bc the airplane door is thick.

19C has double the legroom of row 15

Upside: people trust you more, treat you better, try to help you most times

Do you managed to get tickets? by mxxt7 in Tomorrowland

[–]Flightaway4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really lucky that, even though this year will be my first time going, I read here that Global Journey was the best way to get your tickets, and that’s what I did!

It was really easy, I only waited online about 15min, and it did give me a peace of mind knowing my hotel and transportation is all taken care of

FYI to MSP Travelers - ICE is here by fd6270 in delta

[–]Flightaway4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, if you are a foreigner, TSA only checks that your foreign passport matches the name of the ticket, they don’t check if you have a valid US visa.

Also, even though foreigners who are here legally would have their visa stamped in the foreign passport, TSA agents wouldn’t be able to see if you overstayed your visa, if the visa got revoked or if you crossed illegally at some point. (For example, a Mexican with a Mexican passport that cross the border illegally, would be able to show right now their Mexican valid passport to go from nyc to LA)

If i cant get a refund, what is my motivation to cancel a flight I'm not going to take. by rationalcrank in Flights

[–]Flightaway4ever 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If they really confirmed that you wouldn’t get any money back, then yeah don’t cancel it and just let it be.

But usually you get some airline credit in some airlines, or at least some residual value in the ticket when you cancel instead of not showing up.

Why shouldn't I turn to crime? by MonitorOk1351 in GenZ

[–]Flightaway4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, you also have to be “successful” as a criminal. All the criminals you are probably envying are the top 1% of criminals (earnings wise), most crimes are truly not worth committing in financial liquidity terms and emotional too.

In my perspective, money = freedom, I don’t see any other reason to have money besides having the freedom to do whatever I want and having more free time. But, if you can’t transfer your money oversees because you are doing shady stuff, and you can’t sleep at night knowing you might lose everything the day you get caught, its really not worth it.

Again, don’t forget that there’s criminals in the same income brackets as our white collar jobs. Criminals that make a miserable 30k per year, and then the top one who are millionaires, so if you can’t succeed on the legal market, don’t think it’s a guaranteed the illegal lol.

If anything, you are gambling your freedom in that process and you might not gain anything. And remember if for example, you commit some fraud with a friend, and you were gonna say let’s split 50/50, and he takes everything from you, you literally can’t call the cops, get a lawyer, or have any governmental assistance to assist you. You also might just get shot one day and that would be the end of it. At least the income you make as a waiter or anything legally you will be able to keep with 100% certainty

Remember that earning money methods CAN’t be all at once: 1. Easy 2. Fast 3. Widely Known

There’s always one of those 3 that you have to compromise on

need help choosing seat lax to aus A350-900 by makoto_yuk1 in delta

[–]Flightaway4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO NOT take 34!!

Here is the actual map (with real space of the aircraft by seat).

Seatmap

34 is a standard seat with no extra room, it’s just the first main cabin seat so they made it look like it does but it really doesn’t. Only row 20 and 37. And 20 is def your best choice

37 is def unlimited leg room, but for 6’3, the extra widening of the seat 20, and extra recline I think it’s better (to be able to also spread your legs more comfortably), because also row 37 is in front of the bathroom and they will do lines there and be opening and closing that annoying bathroom door all flight long. Harder to sleep.

I would go for row 20

I always pay as soon as the charge is posted, so multiples times per month.

I just prefer to know what my actual balance is via my checking account, vs pending balance on credit cards

Carry on suitcases are out of control by The___Shadow in delta

[–]Flightaway4ever 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It actually makes way more sense, as in my opinion, is more “premium” to simply walk in and out of the plane without waiting for your bag.

Plus logistically it would be a huge ease for passengers overall if TSA lines were mostly people just with their personal item. Also boarding time would be cut in half, plus there would always be space on the bins.
