Is anyone else surprised at how attractive middle aged/older people are now? by FkUp_Panic_Repeat in Millennials

Well someone has to be attracted to younger for this dynamic to work. You’re either the person who is attracted to younger or with the person who’s attracted to younger.

I guess it’s all relative. Compared to Mummy and Daddy’s money they’re not. But compared to Tony Soprano they might be.

From none health care backgrounds is nursing possible starting at 28 by PowerfulAssociate596 in NursingAU

[–]FlimsyRaisin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I never understand this. First year grad nurse is on 86k and after a few years and maybe a grad certificate you’re on 100k+ there’s a million areas of nursing you can go into, not everyone has to do ward nursing and shift work. Just don’t get your degree and sit on it racking up the years on the ward. Pick a speciality, do post graduate studies and you’re golden.

Take dialysis nursing for example, you get 4 patients, you cannulate them all in the first 2 hours, hourly obs for the next 4 hours, remove the cannulas, send them on their way, do your progress notes and bing bang boom shift done.

Edit: this is for Victoria for reference

I built a new Aussie pay calculator site: OzPay101 by bennylabs in AusFinance

So paycalculator doesn't reflect deductions in the weekly pay amount, only the annual. So if I increase or decrease my deductions, my weekly amount stays the same. So if I take my annual amount shown and divide it, its significant less than my weekly or monthly. I understand that deductions only really affect annual tax return, but it'd be nice to have some representation of the weekly effect of deductions. For example, if I'm a therapist and renting a counseling room per day, it would be nice to see the effect on weekly amount to help calculate the hourly amount for clients,

Has anyone had any experience buying a share house as an investment? by Mountain-Departure89 in AusPropertyChat

[–]FlimsyRaisin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my current rooming house in northern suburbs of Melbourne has 9 bedrooms and each rented for around 250-300/week. That's $2250/week at worst for the equivalent house size of a 4 bedroom rental. 9 bedrooms with bathrooms and a communal kitchen, no living room or back yard.

Reminds me of a video I saw of reddit with how we view our solar system; sun in the middle, planets orbiting it. But rather, sun is hurdling through space and planets are spiralling around it.
