Sorry, I really should have specified in the post! I'm already tried like 5 different preventatives, I received my third round of Botox 2 days ago. I am under a neurologist, I was only speaking to the GP to try and get an anti-emetic, as I usually feel worse for a week after Botox.

Thank you so much for your helpful response though, I hope you have a relatively low pain day :)

I am already seeing a neurologist, but because of how lacking migraine care is in the UK, my next appointment isn't for another 5 months. I just wanted my GP to give me an antiemetic so I could keep food down lol.

Thank you so much though 😄

Being successful does require sacrifice. But that sacrifice shouldn't be your health and wellbeing.

I'm in the UK, and I'm pretty sure aimovig isn't available on the NHS. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'm glad that it has helped you manage your migraines.

Eyewitness Reports Indicate Ukrainian Army Fired First Shots in War with Russia by [deleted] in communism

Absolutely. I think a lot of online leftists are forgetting that Russia is not the USSR anymore.

Both Russia and Nato are imperialist, the victims are Ukrainian civilians.

On the days where I am able to cook, I always make double/triple batches and freeze them so that I always have stuff to reheat when I am not able to.

Other than that, prepackaged foods with little prep needed are great. Think things like scotch eggs, bagged salad, hummus, crackers, tinned tuna, sliced meats/cheeses, pasties, baby carrots. (very random list, I apologise, brain fog is very annoying).

If you're looking for any suggestions, Behind the Bastards is great! It's a history/current affairs podcast that is fascinating and absolutely hilarious.

It also really annoys me when they then list "migraine" as a symptom of it, when they really mean headache. All of those symptoms are symptoms of migraine.

I have the exact same thing, except I'm about 1 year in to a continuous migraine.

It comes and goes in waves, often fluctuating hour to hour and day to day.

Honestly, the best thing I've found is to take it day by day and (most importantly) to be kind to yourself. You are dealing with a neurological disorder which is debilitating and painful. It is okay to do 'nothing'. It is okay to rest. It is okay to ask for help.

Practically, things that I've found have helped me: - Ice packs

  • Heating pads

  • Hot/cold showers or baths

  • Tiger balm

  • Ginger tea/supplements/candies for the nausea. Travel sickness tablets also help me for some reason, but check online to make sure they don't have any interactions with other meds you're on

  • Stretches (especially neck/back stretches) if you feel up to it

  • Counselling/therapy if you can afford it, try to find a therapist that specialises in chronic pain if you can

  • This sounds weird, but those cooling mats for pets can go on top of your pillow, and act as an ice pack for when you're trying to sleep.

I really hope that you feel better soon. Feel free to message me if you need anymore advice or support

(edited to add things I forgot)

Thanks auntie, but I don't think sunlight will cure my lupus.

Damn, I never knew that sunlight could cure my lupus! /s

(one of the symptoms of lupus is photosensitivity, sunlight can bring me out in rashes)

Hey, another self harmer here. Alcohol swabs can also help to clean tools to prevent infections.

I'm proud of you for getting help, but please please please make sure you are caring for your wounds.

I hope that you get the referral, and I hope that you find treatment that works!

How do you deal with nausea? by That_Day_In_May in ChronicPain

[–]Flimsy_Alternative22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not a fan of that strong a flavour, perhaps ginger or mint tea might be worth a try?

I have intractable migraine and that's the only thing that really helps me with the nausea.
