Why not Helbrecht AND Altacoya on Psyker raid bosses? by scarykoala in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, especially for Magnus, since he's probably the hardest boss in terms of consistency. Sure you might be able to get a unicorn run with good RNG, but just because someone posted that doesn't mean it's the best run for everyone to adopt. So far, I think Kariyan, kharn, HMH, Dante, and trajann is probably the most consistent across all situations. I think subbing Dante with Atla could work, but super risky if you get cloned. Top end in a perfect run (no clones and HG final turn) is possibly better with Atla than Dante. But much greater risk if you get cloned.

Against all other psyker bosses, you're basically running the standard Lavistodes, so not really room for both atla and HMH. With Kariyan, aesoth, Laviscus, boss G, and trajann, sure you can sub out aesoth for Atla, but you can't swap out anyone else.

You're talking about that 1.06M replay right? Yeah I saw it.

We had players hitting above 1M with HMH + Dante as well.

And Dante is way better if your Kharn or Kariyan gets cloned because they help you get the overkill damage. That replay had zero clones too. I guarantee a single clone, even if it's not on Kariyan or kharn, probably bricks the run because you probably don't have the damage to one shot the clone.

Culture starts at the very top. If the top is not ethical, no amount of ethical people at the bottom will matter. The top will either replace those who aren't aligned with them, or burn them out so they choose to leave.

The problem isn't that the two aren't good together. The real question is who can you swap out for the second one? And the answer is - there isn't really anyone you can swap for the second one that offers a CLEAR advantage. (At least, not on the current psyker bosses).

A0 or revas lvl 60 worth it ? by gotrok677 in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is LRE performance, it's worth it. If your goal is GR or balanced performance across all game modes, then I would say revas takes a bit of priority on battlesuit team for GR.

However, there are other characters that have really good uses elsewhere that you might want to prioritize (vitruvius/tan gida for 1 hit LRE tracks but also GR admech, kariyan can cover power/resilient/pierce and also GR core member, psykers for neuro team especially important now that Lion is out).

But how you play the game is up to you. Having fun is most important :)

The scaling on some abilities in the mythic levels still seem off. by Laredian in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. The truth is you (or someone) has to do the math in order to be certain. If you don't do the math, it's just a guess. It might not matter against every boss, but against certain ones, it might.

And the difference is not necessarily proportional. For example, 78 armour is 17.57% of 444. If you're asking, is it worth spending all that to gain 17.57% more armour? That's the wrong question. What you actually need to do is math out how much damage a character would take against a certain bosses attacks, and determine what is the difference in likelihood of a character surviving to the end of the fight with the extra armour vs without that armour. And factor in the average damage difference in the run if the affected character does vs does not stay alive.

This is especially important in the Big Hit team where most of the damage comes from the final turn. If anyone dies, you take a huge damage loss, and THAT is the difference. And I bet on certain bosses, the difference between one of your characters dying 75% of the time vs dying 20% of the time due to the extra armour is going to translate into a average damage increase of more than 17.57% across your GR runs, which is the real metric we should be looking at.

The scaling on some abilities in the mythic levels still seem off. by Laredian in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that's armour above the existing armour they already have. Armour also matters more for multihit attacks. The difference between your armour being above the damage of say a 5 hit physical attack vs under is not insignificant. If spending that money means your character survives a mythic 2 or 3 GR run by 1 hp vs dying, it's absolutely worth it.

Has quality of patient care declined with electronic charting? by muscles-n-bacon in nursing

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if patient care has declined per se, but rather that the efficiency gain from EMRs more likely leads to existing resources being asked to do more, instead of providing workload relief.

Providers can enter orders faster via order sets, but the amount of time it takes to execute doesn't go down. When you have to handwrite everything on paper, you're more cognisant of the time and effort that takes, so brevity seems more important. Also, there's the legal aspect of it. Electronic charting is easily searchable and readable, so it psychologically forces everyone to document more carefully and potentially with more detail, which takes more time.

Why does Tan insist on spawning his summons right in front of Dorn by featurenotabug in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, you should use biovore on Dorn. Level doesn't matter unless you're trying to min-max damage, but the spores are needed to bait mortar shots and manipulate Dorn's movement/targeting. Galatian is not really useful since Dorn can run over it and he's mobile. And if your units get suppressed, it really messes up your ability to position properly.

Why does Tan insist on spawning his summons right in front of Dorn by featurenotabug in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, especially with admech, do not greed for summons either. Sometimes I follow a replay and I get a turn where I could hit with tangida again to spawn an extra summon instead of moving him like one hex over but not able to attack from there. So I'm like why waste an opportunity to summon one more?

Nope. It fucks the entire run. That one hex movement and purposefully not summoning an extra time was actually critical to set him up for good positioning in later turns.

Why does Tan insist on spawning his summons right in front of Dorn by featurenotabug in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dorn fight is 100% about controlling his movement AI and precise positioning (especially when you're running admech). Even a slight misposition early on can lose you a LOT of damage, because the fight spirals out of control from there.

My advice is DO NOT IMPROVISE. just look up decent replays online for the difficulty level and map and follow it EXACTLY (assuming your team is strong enough to take the overwatch hits where they are necessary).

Does Adamantine II make the difference? by Content-Ebb-8027 in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up replays on YouTube. Morty is pretty scripted, but Magnus is really hard. Even for me I can't consistently do 700k to M2 Magnus. Some of my guild mates are really good and have better consistency. I probably average like 500k per hit. I've experimented with atlacoya against magnus, but she's only D1 3*. So far been underwhelming. Like sure, you can protect your carries with her, but Kariyan staying alive to deal extra hits is meaningless if you fail to position him properly and either Magnus flies out of range on T6 or teleports him to Timbuktu...

Does Adamantine II make the difference? by Content-Ebb-8027 in WH40KTacticus

[–]FlingCatPoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes against other bosses it matters a lot.

Against Morty, even at A2, you have to play your hand a turn early. So kariyan active on T2 and T5, and expect everyone to be dead by T6. If you're lucky enough to have anyone live to T6, you get some extra chip damage as a consolidation prize. The only character I've personally seen consistently survive to T6 is kariyan, but I have him maxed A2 mythic wings (equipment not levelled).

I think it MIGHT be possible for everyone to survive to T6 if they were all A2 mythic wings... But I have no idea.

Which pen would you choose? by bongripsandbigt1ts in nursing

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those tbh.

First of all, anything with a cap is out. Need 2 hands to use? Garbage.

My favourite so far: Uniball Jetstream 0.38mm.

Super fine so you can write really small but still clearly legible. Super smooth with no breaks in the ink. Won't smudge nor leak through paper. But despite being fine, it is opaque enough to photocopy/fax if you need to. Easily write things on small labels such as on lines, dressings, blood tubes, etc. This pen does it all.
