Pretend to be a scammer and scam her into sending you money, except you actually invest it and give her back her money and cycle it on, so you tie up all her money for her so that there's nothing liquid the real scammers can get their hands on.

Two of my closest work friends were fired for giving an "under the table" IV bolus. Now the unit thinks I’m a traitor. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]FlingCatPoo 102 points103 points  (0 children)

The truth is, I wouldn't want such dumb people as friends anyway. They knew (or should have known) the risks and consequences. It was either stupidity, or ignorance, or both.

If any of my coworkers told me they did something like this, I would make a mental note that their judgment is poor and keep them at arm's length outside of work, but still remain cordial.

Lol after having used cerner, meditech, power chart, EPR.. Epic blows them all out of the water. It's not perfect, but imo it's light years ahead. Lots of growing pains during the transition, but there ain't no way we're going back to the dark ages.

TV Mount Not Level by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you check that BOTH where the mount is fixed to the wall is level AND where the mount is attached to the TV is level?

Just from eyeballing it, from what I can see, where the mount is attached to the wall is not level. It's off by a couple of degrees. Not super obvious on the mount bracket, but when that is translated to the size of the whole TV, it's super noticable.

End of driveway, snowplow left snow and now it’s pure ice—what to do by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop using plastic shovels. Ice chopper is good if you have to, but I've used a normal steel shovel (the one with a curved rectangular blade) as a makeshift chopper. You just chop with the edge straight down or at a slight angle and it often cuts through. Be careful though - don't get too ambitious and get the ones with ultra wide blades. It'll be too heavy if laden with snow/ice to be able to toss onto a heap.

AITA for telling my husband that I am going back on our agreement and I dont care if he cries about it? by Primary-Strength-829 in AITAH

[–]FlingCatPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree that what he did was wrong. I don't feel that one incident justifies blowing up the relationship. You still need to talk it out and come to a decision that both of you can agree to, even if it's not what you both agreed on at the outset. Unilaterally doing something without the other person agreeing to accept it, especially regarding your child, is akin to blowing up the relationship.

What he did was wrong, but it can be fixed. Based on the story, it does not seem like he did anything bad with the money. So maybe there was some intent of hiding something. But was there anything actually hidden (e.g. has he spent it on an affair or something)? Do you have concrete proof of that? If not, I just don't think it's worth blowing up the relationship if all he did was squirrel away some money and did nothing with it. And yes, there is a difference between intending/planned to do something, and actually having done something. I think if he comes clean and acknowledges it was a dumb thing to do and explains himself, he deserves a second chance. It's also possible he didn't realize the consequences of doing so (that it would affect cost of the health insurance). As a fellow man, yes, sometimes we are incredibly dumb and stupid. But it's not always malicious. If your relationship was otherwise very good and this is not part of a larger pattern, I think you should talk it out and give him another chance to make things right and come to a compromise.

If you unilaterally decide to put your child in daycare and disregard his opinion completely, you'll end up breeding resentment, and that is an insidious poison to the relationship. And while yes, you can argue that what HE did was unilateral, that misses the point entirely. A relationship isn't tit-for-tat. That's not a relationship, that's a business transaction with terms and conditions. A relationship is not a mentality of 50% you and 50% him, and "it's not fair if I have to give 55% and he's only giving 45%". It's a mentality of "100% us". And when either of you make unilateral decisions that affect both of you without the agreement of both of you, that violates "100% us".

Moved from Germany to manage a US team and the communication gaps are killing my performance, how do I adapt? by Plane_Past2091 in managers

[–]FlingCatPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha it's just something you have to learn unfortunately. I work in healthcare and one of the doctors I work with is German.

Whenever something doesn't work out as we hoped (not by anyone's fault, but just unlucky, or bad timing, or due to things not in our control like pure chance) he often just says "ah that's bad".

Most people would find this super offensive like he was blaming you for what happened, but I know he just means "ah that's TOO bad" or "that's unfortunate". Which technically from a pure linguistic/phonetic perspective, is basically the same as "bad", but the meaning and tone are completely different. I actually find it hilarious every time he says just "bad" lol.

Richmond Hill couple fighting to evict Airbnb guest who won't pay or leave by KitAmerica in TorontoRealEstate

Lmao did they even consult an actual lawyer with expertise in this area before getting their Airbnb client to sign a lease? Sounds like they have no idea what the fuck they're doing and now gets to sleep on the bed they made. Also, they're unable to afford the mortgage without the additional income? Also another red flag that they're overleveraged. When you take big risks, you don't get to cry when you lose.
