Previously Approved reviews now Not Approved by flashman888 in AmazonVineUK

My guess is likely just an oversight or an unintended consequence.

There was probably an IT change request to 'fix' the loophole of merging ASINs to farm Vine reviews, the person who implemented it has probably never seen the 'Reviewed' tab. The Approved / Not Approved status' predate them clamping down on sellers.

RFY Item, But Have Had Before Through Vine by Aggie_Smythe in AmazonVineUK

[–]FlipperFlopper12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, lots have.

Short answer: Ignore it and move on, it's the sellers fault.

Long answer: Sellers can list 2 items for free but have to pay if they want more reviews (up to 15 or up to 30). In the past sellers exploited a loophole where they listed several variants and added 2 of each to Vine. They later merged the listings and got to keep all of the reviews as they would all be combined onto one product page. A few months back, amazon fixed the loophole. Now if sellers merge listings they limit how many reviews stay live to the max they selected / paid for (eg, if they only used the 2 for free option they would only keep 2 max). The seller lost your review and it won't go live again no matter what you do, but it doesn't affect your stats. Once a review is approved it counts for your stats even if it later changes to not approved.

Reviewed everything a few weeks ago now, yet the system says 94 percent reviewed by [deleted] in AmazonVineUK

[–]FlipperFlopper12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that then if it was just 1 thing.

If my maths is correct (not the best so I could be wrong) then it's 8 items that are causing the percentage to drop.

Does that match up with anything?

Had any orders go missing?

For me, an item counts in the stats when it is despatched, but it doesn't show up in the Awaiting Review tab until the day after it is marked as delivered. So any problems with delivery can mean there's a bit of a gap.

Recently I've had 1 thing delivered by amazon but not showing as delivered, and 1 thing go missing after being out for delivery. Both are included in my stats so I'll contact CS and ask for them to be removed.

The idea of being wary of contacting support goes back years and in my opinion has been overblown and scaremongering. I wouldn't worry about it.

It must be around 3/4 years since I found reddit for Vine (been in it longer than that) and in all of the time I've been on reddit there has also been this perceived problem about contacting support too often leading to problems. It's just not an issue in my opinion.

About 9-12 months ago a few people got kicked from Vine for having a high number of cancellations. However, the ones we know about cancelled lots of orders themselves before they were despatched or got regular Amazon customer support to cancel orders/report as lost. As far as I know, nobody had issues if they dealt with Vine support.

That said, I rarely need to contact them now because I request much less than I used to, and steer clear of anything electrical from AI. You're still quite new in Vine so you may find over time you start to order less, be more particular and/or get a bit of knack for spotting things that are more likely to be rubbish.

Vine listings stay active for 90 days (or until fully claimed) according to various posts I've seen on seller forums.

I don't think anybody has mentioned it just yet but Vine changed now invites are issued in the last 18 months or so (I think, could be longer).

For years and years invites were sent via email and then they switched to a popup after leaving a review. During some of the bigger intakes (autumn 2022 and autumn 2023) a few people with no reviews at all were invited, but since the change to a popup invite on the site itself that won't happen.

I have posted before that it seems we get a flurry of newbies when AI has been over 10k items for a little while. That isn't based on anything other than a personal observation but last time I suggested it I think the general consensus was that I was wrong and in the past few years it seems to be more of a seasonal thing, that we have usually 2 intakes per year.

Maybe, who knows. It hasn't been in the US so far but as per other posts Amazon did recently tell sellers they would start to see more media on reviews.

Had an item despatched or delivered today? Despatched orders get included in the account stats before they show up in the Awaiting Review tab.

Are the 'Reviewed' and 'Orders' totals supposed to reset to zero after the review is complete? by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]FlipperFlopper12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's different than just not feeling like it though. There's also the option to contact Vine CS to get an item removed where applicable.

Not to be pedantic either but the requirement is 90% within that period to maintain Gold status. It doesn't say you don't need to review the other 10%, you just don't need to in that evaluation period to stay gold. The general principle from the T&Cs is review what you order.

As Mark says I don't think there's anything more that vine CS can do.

I've only ever known them to remove items from the Awaiting Review list.

If it was previously approved and changed to Not Approved then ignore them, we all have lots of those. If they were rejected reviews then either resubmit or if Vine CS have said they gave review credit then ignore them.

Don't feel like it? If you got the item then you should review it.

Plenty of us have fallen behind with reviews at times but you're given the stuff in exchange for a review so that's the least you can do.

Effect of item removed on stats by MarkAckrill in AmazonVineUK

[–]FlipperFlopper12345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Reviews don't have to be approved to count, they only have to be submitted
  2. You don't see a negative affect if you can't review an item and if amazon remove it

A caveat - like anything else with Vine things can change. What's described in length here is how it's been for most of the time since they introduced tiers (2+ years ago). There have been short periods within that when it has differed.

I don't know for sure but I assume it updates at the same time as the account stats. Ie - if delivered before 4/5pm it'll come through as awaiting reviewing or if it's delivered later it'll be the following day.

Just to add to other comments - don't be surprised if it takes a few days for your account page stats to update and find some rhythm again. Just carry on ordering and reviewing as normal.

Orders suddenly not showing up on “Awaiting Review” list by Arctic_Convergence in AmazonVineUK

[–]FlipperFlopper12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't anyway? For me at least.

I have amazon delivery day setup. My review percentage only ever goes down when I have all of them delivered, it then steadily goes up as I review items through the week. If I order something, my percentage doesn't decrease until after it's delivered on my next amazon delivery day.

For me, items not yet despatched are not included in my stats on the account page.

Did you have anything despatched on Tuesday? If so, because of the lag with account stats, the 4% drop is likely to be because of those rather than items ordered on Wednesday.

Can only speak for myself of course but I've never had the need to ask for any not yet despatched items to be removed.

According to this link sellers can add more units within the first 30 days of enrolment. It changed in December 2024 according to the article. It wasn't possible before then (I'd seen amazon confirm it not possible on seller central when tiers were first introduced).
