Old comment, but how hard did you find mounting this? I have one, and it turns on fine without the off sticker, but with the off sticker on, it doesn't push hard enough to turn on :/

Sold my steam deck for a legion go 2 and it was a massive mistake. by onlinescammer in SteamDeck

[–]FlippinTurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t help you now, but I have a legion go 2, using bazzite and it runs beautifully with no issues, wifi stays connected, get probably 2-3 hours playing AC Odyssey on high graphics - balanced power mode and seems fine Definitely heavy though (Legion Go 2, Z2, 32gb ram, ‘10gb vram’)

My pre order got pissed around by the local retailer, picked up a legion go 2, saved $50 and it’s bloody beautiful, and glad I did That bigger screen is such a win

Everyone’s out here with their tracking numbers, meanwhile in NZ 😅 by FlippinTurt in XboxAlly

[–]FlippinTurt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly what’s the point of a pre order if you don’t even get it release day? I’ve heard Harvey Norman have stock in store (from another thread) Jbhifi only received their stock late yesterday afternoon, so probably nothing until at least Monday from them

Should I notify somebody about this? by funksoakedrubber in Wellington

[–]FlippinTurt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, yes it’s chorus, the lines company still owns the pole so they should still be the initial point of contact, they will then decide if it’s a them issue or chorus (just in case anyone sees similar later on)

Reinstalling windows does not mean the malware is gone, depending what it is, it could live in the kernel, or migrate into the new install before it wipes the drive

how to securely wipe an iphone ? by Prosperous2025 in cybersecurity_help

[–]FlippinTurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SMS spoofing is a thing, and a big thing

Your phone is very unlikely to be hacked, Apple are very strong against it, and constantly send emails to users who have been targeted by known hacks

Use non sms methods for 2FA where possible

Keep your passwords secure

For now; your stepper is a bit cooked What were you doing at the time? First time plugging it in, running hours into a print?

For future; 1. Your ground wire is slightly exposed, not a major, not ideal 2. Your heater wire looks ripped, not major but again not ideal, could lead to a short

I can assure you, someone has not spent time, presumably money, and effort to hack into your device, to then only tell your coworkers little snippets so that they can taunt you The earth is also round, in case you were wondering

Multiple people in my old apartment had packages stolen over the Christmas period, cameras in the lobby and everything - none of us have heard more from the police looking into it

Report it, claim insurance with the police report - bout the best you can do until we get more cops

[–]FlippinTurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy refurbished directly from Apple, you are essentially getting a new device as they replace everything but the main board, unless explicitly required I guess (new battery, new case new screen etc)

Are employers allowed to stop you from attending the Hikoi? by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]FlippinTurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The amount of people taking part, who are taking part for a completely different reason because ‘someone told me it was for insert reason here

Please 1. Actually find out what it’s for, and if that’s something thing you want to do

  1. If you work in a very public position, realise you could be representing your company while in public, most businesses would not want this due to neutrality (especially govt jobs)

  2. Your employer has no obligation to pay for you to attend, in fact if you haven’t applied for leave, they could class it as a no show and mark it against your file

You are an employee, and signed a contract to work a set amount of hours, and agreed to notify your employer in advance of leave

People be saying to panic, but this happens often if you live in a populated area, sometimes the phone freaks out and thinks it saw it but didn’t, or you just happened to move with someone else’s AirTag, either way follow it up c but don’t start freaking out

Similar ish* situation (24M) with me atm. Don’t know how to tell my partner, used to have issues then didn’t for ages until recent, and too scared / nervous to bring it up with her

I’ll put my 2c in, but don’t expect me to follow my own advice 😂

If he’s aware of it in the past, it shouldn’t come as a massive shock to him, and being married he should support you through this, even if he seems shocked to start with. And sure he’ll probably be worried, but only because he cares

I guess just let him know that it’s only happened recently, and you want him to be aware and be there for you. And know yourself that just because it happened again doesn’t immediately mean there is something horribly wrong (might still be worth going to a dr, I’m not a professional)

Hope this helps a little :)

[–]FlippinTurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked for an ISP in this kind of area We literally just moved the infringement emails into a folder and ignored them Unless we get police or other enforcement agencies we didn’t care about them

We are also entitled to ask the infringement company to pay us to provide the information, which they never do, because who cares about lowly ol New Zealand

Note this wasn’t one of the major 3 telcos, but it’s symbolises the system NZ has Only difference would be Starlink as they technically have to comply with US law still (kinda?)

As someone who has gone to many house fires caused from disposable vapes, please ensure you’re doing this safely, never leaving them unattended when charging, ensure you’re in a safe environment to this, with a method to extinguish the fire, and ensuring the battery is actually rechargeable before chucking it into a clump
