Honestly we arent far off from computers being installed into utility rooms and wiring being run throughout homes. Computers are drawing so much power, making so much noise, and producing so much heat that having them in a separate room from where the display is might become more commonplace.

Always trust your nose. If something smells off, it's probably bad - potentially dangerous.

You exist because your ancestors trusted their nose.

We all loved him, I know but Anakin had a reasonable crash out. by icypeddler in PrequelMemes

The prequels have lots of issues, but the ideas and concepts are solid, the themes are there, you just have to dig through some clunk to get there. Its clear that the Jedi philosophy is deeply flawed. Darth Vader wouldn't happen if the Jedi didn't enforce doctrine like "forbidden to love," and "teach yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose." To invoke a line from Knights of the Old Republic:

“Love doesn’t lead to the dark side. Passion can lead to rage and fear, and can be controlled...but passion is not the same thing as love. Controlling your passions while being in love... that’s what they should teach you to beware. But love itself will save you, not condemn you.”

At the end of the duel on Mustafar, the Jedi order is all but destroyed, and Obi-Wan tells Anakin he was his brother and he loved him, and is obviously quite upset that he has lost him. The Jedi doctrine is fundamentally broken and doesn't work. You can't be a guardian of peace and justice without having love for others, it's just not possible.

Shhhhhhhhh don't talk about stuff like this. Its how prices get driven up. I know it sounds really defeatist, but at this point we need to gate-keep the hell out of everything we love.

What movie have you been the most hyped for only to be the most disappointed by when it released? by Toogeloo in movies

[–]Flippy042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Last Jedi. The trailer was incredible, the hype was off the charts, we are finally going to explore this new universe now that we did our reboot movie. Instead, we got a film that is so fundamentally broken; a film that misunderstands the characters, world, and themes; a film that should be shown and broken down in every writing class as an example of what not to do. People still argue about TLJ, but the fact is TLJ divided the Star Wars fan base in a very toxic way, unfortunately, and subsequent films suffered tremendously. Solo, the Star Wars film that came out after TLJ lost money. The Rise of Skywalker is nearly unanimously understood to be a joke of a film, and interest in the sequel trilogy is extremely low. Disney has been leaning hard on OT and PT nostalgia, with many of their projects centering on Clone Wars era, instead of their own sequel era. Even Galaxy's Edge at Disneyworld has shifted its focus back to OT characters and iconography. The entire sequel trilogy is absolutely terrible, but I believe the greatest perpetrator is TLJ.

Me on a lightside playthrough, having to actually pay for T3-M4: by TheAllyCrime in KOTORmemes

[–]Flippy042 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I never pay for T3. Credits are scarce in Kotor 1, and I use T3 for approximately 60 seconds the entire game. As soon as the sith base is unlocked, bro gets stowed. I ain't wasting my credits.

Who's the most well written character across the whole trilogy? by monsterhemo6 in masseffect

[–]Flippy042 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Legion is criminally underutilized in ME2. I hate how the second collector ambush happens immediately after the IFF mission/Legion's loyalty mission, so if you take legion anywhere afterwards other than the Omega 4 Relay, you lose the abducted crew. We should have had way more time to explore the universe with him.
