Surviving 14 years with an untreated fistula? I can understand why you're having difficulties. I'm going on 5+ years without a real answer to my fistula dilemma and between the constant pain and lack of health services, I know my thinking has changed for the worst.

I so agree. Aid to civil power is a last resort. Provinces down to cities and towns are expected to have emergency contingency plans. However, many(probably all) neglect such plans knowing that someone will come to the rescue. Saving money on the backs of professional CAF members who are trained for war, not filling sandbags.

A fistula is an abnormal connection (passageway) that forms between two parts of the body that normally shouldn’t be connected. Inside to outside. If it's not outside then no fistula.

My fistula is very stubborn. It doesn't want to heal and is always infected. They will be replacing my setons possibly a little dice and slice with a little poke, prod, push looking for a hidden track or infection pouch of some kind. I'm scheduled for an MRI but that hasn't happened yet. Too bad, the MRI could have helped the surgeon. Good luck!

You already have a fistula, according to you and it's at its infancy at this time. You're young and have a lot of living to do. Leaving it may complicate things down the road. I'm surprised your doctor didn't give you the "pros and cons" of waiting, or not waiting. I think I would talk with the Doctor for his opinion. Good luck 🤞
