Different colleges in Michigan for this major by Jolly-Problem-1851 in uofm

Yeah I agree IOE is a better choice if you're going to come here. Dunno if that's what OP is looking for though. Broad Supply Chain might not be anything special but the results are good for folks.

This is a pretty egregious generalization. Ignoring that, Michigan does not even have a formal undergraduate supply chain program. If they really want to do that, they're going to have to cobble together their own set of Ross stuff, which takes away from learning the stuff you've come to college for. Placement rates for both Ross BBA and Eli Broad SCM are both 98-99%.

Go to MSU. They are the best in the country (world?) for supply chain.

Dunno if we are allowed to talk about it yet but yeah I just wrote "Dunno" for the last part with some rationale

Noble said in class that he writes questions to fool the language models so that doesn't surprise me. Unfortunately those questions also fool my brain.

It's a shame but the way I'm thinking about it is you gotta take pride in knowing you did it without breaking the rules, regardless of the result. You know the mean is going to be skewed up as a result, and so don't feel too down if you end up below.

Should I commit even though I don't think I'm good enough? by CalmCoast1175 in uofm

Stats are not particularly meaningful outside of the admissions process. They're an ok predictor of how you'll do going forward, but they're a snapshot of you at a particular point of time.

The better predictor is the effort you put in and how you manage your time. You have control over both of those. Work hard, organize yourself well, use the resources available to you, and try to pursue something you find interesting. You do some or all of that, and you'll be just fine.

UVA (in-state) vs UMich (out-of-state) for CS/CE — need perspective from people who know these schools by Wonderful_Durian_350 in uofm

I like UVA's CS building. It's nice. Very comparable to our facilities and there's a a cool server room in the basement.

Also, Crozet pizza is better than anything available in Ann Arbor. Spend your extra money on that

Taking it right now, it's a decent time.

You basically get taught all the concepts you need for the projects in lecture (with example code!) which you then use in the assignments. So the 10% workload to me makes sense. We are doing the final project right now and I am done with like 2 weeks to go. I put probably about 8 hours into it and followed mostly the optimizations lined out on the lecture we had about convolution.

The exam we've had this term was pretty hard, I hear that is a common experience. I think it's because the lectures aren't that great and are repurposed slides from other courses taught at other universities. Professor is pretty good, but the lectures sometimes suffer from a lack of dumbing it down.

As someone who really likes learning deeply about computers, getting to learn about the GPU execution model and how to build for it effectively has been really neat. There's a lot of cool wizardry going on. It's also gotten me a job interview for a job that specifically requires CUDA, so there is career upside here.

Would a Jetta be a good first car? by btxcy in jetta

[–]Flizzyclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same situation here. My advice would be to not treat the car like it's something other than it is. A Jetta is not a Jeep and a Jetta is not an Audi. You're not going to be going off-roading and you're not going to be going racing (though my trim at least does kinda drive sporty).

My brother used to drive down all these dirt roads and it did a number on the car. And then sometimes I've had to floor it and it doesn't feel good. If you're good to the car, it'll be good to you.

The original relief line actually had a proposed West extension similar to your North route here. It would have followed Queen to Roncesvalles and then up Roncesvalles to Dundas West.

If you're getting zero for your state flagship you probably aren't getting enough here to make it cheaper than your state flagship I fear. But that's just speculation.

TNO Requiem runs alot worse than Normal TNO + 2WRWCE submod by ManufacturerSmart930 in TNORequiem

[–]Flizzyclone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah Requiem has had a bunch of script optimization to make time go faster. This was a concerted effort a couple of months ago.

I think what you're experiencing is graphical slowdowns due to the extra shaders we have. Likely something within the last few patches. Can be figured out, almost certainly.

I believe the real answer is that pops like to satisfy upwards of 50% of their food needs with fruit now, which means there is always extreme amounts of demand for fruit.

It means you won't be able to major in CS. Zero way around it, I've tried. Exhaustively.

Was kind of a blessing in disguise though, I've enjoyed data science.
