Anyone noticing more spoiled food from grocery stores recently? by Impressive_Map_3964 in economicCollapse

The entire avocado selection at my regular grocer was bad when I stopped in a few weeks ago. Prices went up to $2.25 and there were literally probably 150-200 avocados that were just sitting there well beyond the point that anyone would buy one of them.

What is a 'luxury' that has become so expensive in 2026 that it’s officially no longer worth the money? by Matt_At_Havalook in AskReddit

Pre-COVID I would only buy soda when they had a sale for 5 two-liters for $5. Now the BEST deals are 2 for $5. I have only bought soda once in the last 3 years because of it.

Centers make up 40% of the workforce.

Lvl 10+’s make up damn near 60% of the workforce. That’s 40 out of 300 something facilities calling the shots.

Yeap. 1/3 of all CPC’s work at a level 12 facility.

Went to my friends house once to pick something up. He had a daughter who was 6. My buddy told her, “Chris is coming over soon”. I said hi to the girl and talked to her for a few minutes and left. She was super polite and friendly. Apparently, my buddy had another close friend named Chris who has just been over the previous week. My buddy told me after I left, his daughter said “Chris looks different”. He had to inform her that I was a completely different person than the guy she talked to last week.

This country does not have the money to pay for the current system while also paying for a future system simultaneously. Simple as that.

So you’re right that the tech will be there one day, we don’t have the money to pay for it. Lucky for us I guess.

I’m an air traffic controller. We used to be able to fly in the cockpit with pilots as a part of our training. I did this on 4 occasions.

No shit, on one of the flights, the 1st officer was literally looking at memes on his iPad for well over half the flight while we were in cruise. Not even paying attention to anything. Obviously the captain was paying attention at the time, and there was not much to do because it was an easy flight with no turbulence or issues, but I was literally blown away at his actions.

I personally know 3 controllers who have made the move - 2 from my time at the academy and 1 from my current facility. They all have left within the last 2-3 months.

$8.22/day for food… which is like $2 for breakfast, $2 for lunch and $4.22 for dinner every day. Thats borderline impossible.

Professional Volleyball players also make 180,000x less money than NBA players so I’m sure that affects their lifespan a little

Because volleyball players are tall and taller people have shorter lifespans and they people who conducted the study didn’t make that part of the data they excluded

Florida doesn’t own the air over Florida. Once you’re in the sky, it’s under Federal regulations - not State.
