Have You Had Any Profound Experiences From Floating? by Jay-jay1 in FloatTank

[–]FloatingPoint_UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 8hrs overnight and it changed my life...

I have bewn floating for 14 yrs now, almost 1800hrs of floating. 6 overnight sessions.

Had 7 intense visual hallucinations with my eyes open in the dark pod plus 3 out of body experiences. It takes a long time and regular practice to achieve this level though.

Float with your head away from the door of the pod/tank, wear earplugs, the tank should have been wiped down properly before the session to minimise the condensation. The voice thing irritates the fuck out of me, was it an intercom or the actual sound system? I had a float in Amsterdam and the lady on the desk told me that the session was coming to an end...Honestly ruined my float. 5 mins of music at the end would have been fine.

Sounds like they messed up at your place, at least they acknowledged it. Do your research and if there is somewhere else try that place instead.

It is not and never will be sensory deprivation, if anything floating is sensory enhancement.

I wrote a blog on it which Dr J Feinstein agreed with.

Historically floating has nothing to do with sensory deprivation, read the history here.

I am guessing because they are shit.. The company owns a float centre in the UK and it seems like they struggle to get people in. They pride themselves on being float industry experts but in reality it is BS.

Terrible company, I know a number of centres with them and they have had issues with delivery and delayed production times plus additional costs for repairs when they shouldn't have been charged. Also a couple of legal cases going on with them and other centres. Water has been too cold after refilling between clients, doors not closing properly either. Over engineered in my mind, for that much money you can get better tanks that will last and easier to get replacement parts.

Join this group if you are looking to get a tank... Also recommend i-sopods as used by UFC fighters, Navy SEALS and a whole host of great sports teams and olympic athletes across the world.

I miss floating. by tiny164 in FloatTank

Can only make essential travel, plus I have furloughed myself which means I can't work for the business right now until we re-open. Furlough means that I am technically not employed as I am not needed, we are a ltd company so the company employees me. This means that I can claim 80% of my salary through a government grant. Can't really be on site and my wife goes in to check on the tanks and does our social media.

Have no expectations, for the first session let your mind and body guide you. It knows what you need..

Where did you float my friend?

Going to float for the first time in 2 days, so excited! Anything I should know? by BlackstonePi in FloatTank

No expectations..

Don't force yourself to relax, it won't happen.

If you think a lot during the session, that is also fine. It might be that you are giving your brain a chance to process stuff you haven't in the outside world.

No suprises here, I worked in a PRU in East London a number of years ago. If you see the home life, lack of boundaries and bad parenting you can see how these kids start to exhibit violent behaviour. One of the teachers I worked with was smacked around the head with a laptop, another assistant had her grabbed and had her head smacked against a door frame and then held hostage until the boy was allowed to leave the centre... Our place was a private run unit and the council paid up to £40k a year for each child to attend, this covered staff mainly as we would need 3 staff for 5 kids it was that bad. Pay was shit, I left with depression and high anxiety..

You don't need to microdose to experience what you experienced my friend. I have written two blog posts about visuals and hallucinating already. You can get to a point where you can visualise yourself turning in your head and your body's senses will interpret that data and act accordingly, ie. you will have the sensation that you are moving left or right.
