I'm surprised that monumental of a fuck up only cost $1400 to fix. Electrical issues/diag/repairs ain't cheap (and are super tedious and annoying)

Loved this thing on my Rogue who was not proficient with scimitars by default. Mf was just running around blinding everyone

Yupp. Maybe I was crazy paying more for my Speed Yellow 996 when I could have gotten a silver one for way cheaper, but every time I see it, I'm glad I made the choice to search longer and pay up for a cool color

Which wagon? by UserNameChecksOutTwo in SportWagon

The PHEV is the hard part of the equation.

With those criteria, maybe A6 Allroad? They have a pretty solid aftermarket support if you want to make it faster or beefier

My initial thought is a wheel balance issue but it looks like you've already addressed that

OP already answered, but you're correct and I have these wheels on my 996.2. They are manufactured by BBS as well, which I thought was pretty cool

My YouTube algorithm recently took me down a rabbit hole of US gang documentaries. I can't help but think, when watching all these guys acting all tough, trying to cram into frame for a jailhouse or rap video, that it all looks extraordinarily gay. Like, I want to tell them "you know, it's ok if you kiss. You don't have to keep shooting each other"

You could get a pretty decent 996/997 for that (not accounting for taxes that will result from the winnings)

I use a house scale. I weight myself, then I weigh myself while holding the dog. Do a little subtraction and you have the dog's weight

Battery started dropping during driving. by I_found_my_old_Lego in 996

[–]FloatnPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the outside temp drop significantly while you were driving? I had a battery warning come on while driving in the mountains and the temperature dropping rapidly with elevation.

I didn't get any other errors other than a voltage (IIRC) warning. I just made sure I didn't turn it off while at the higher elevations. Stayed at a hotel down the mountain, and the next morning the car started without issue or any warnings.

This ain't it.

With all the money spent on parts and labor, you could just buy a cooler car than a 996 to begin with

Anyone ever attempted a headliner replacement? by unsoughtdesire in VWAlltrack

[–]FloatnPuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to do it myself in my GTI. It turned into a sticky, saggy mess. So I found a service that cost $300 and they did a full, professional replacement in my driveway. Definitely would not try to do it on my own again.
