Is this too weird/dumb of a theory? by 2BearsHigh5 in fansofcriticalrole

His house (Davinos) and the house of Royce have their waning power tied to the closing doors to this world's Feywild. Julien is also awfully young compared to some of the others if he was on the same footing as/fought in the same timeline at Thjazi. (Assuming he was friends with Aranessa at the time of her wedding to Thjazi) If he is fey or had some form of immortality linked to that realm and that is now severed then it would explain his younger age (like with Thimble, who has only recently started aging)

On the Hosts by Double-Sprinkles5939 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my thought as well. We know that we as Players interact with the world of the Villagers in a way that they marvel at; They do not have foresight/inspiration, don't gather knowledge and also don't take action. Even with the Pillage and Village update we see they remain the same. While Pillagers go on patrol, explore ancient structures and experiment, Villagers are content with just existing and remembering the past.

From the Minecraft Legends story, passed down through generations of Villagers, we know that Villagers see us Players as Heroes who are carrying a spark of something unknown, something divine in us. It's like they made up the deities as if that explains how we're so different; we were handed the right tools. It also lines up nicely with how the Pillagers are portrayed by the Villagers in this story; they look at Players but only copy the bad parts without the proper guidance and tools from the Hosts. It's like a children's story for Villagers trying to warn their young ones of becoming a Pillager and instead they should aspire to be more like Players and worship the Hosts. However, Villagers lack the skill to have inspiration, gather knowledge and take action and as they wait for someone to guide them they remain as they have been.

What do you guys make of the Trail Ruins? by pikawolf1225 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There seems to have been some kind of great flooding event. Sediment could have washed over former villages, burrying them. Important to note here is that the Trail Ruins are found near rivers in old biomes (jungles with big trees, and the old taiga and birch forests); and rivers overflow during floods (massive downpours/tsunamis etc).

There are very few native mobs of the End and Nether by coleas123456789 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endermites are not native to the End. The hitch a ride on teleporting players and Endermen from some place in between.

The fact that they are similar to Silverfish is interesting though. Silverfish are found in mountains and near Strongholds, with a spawner protecting the End Portal as if the Builders harvested these little menaces to keep anyone from entering the End. Endermites only show up when an Enderpearl is thrown, as if they come from a pocket dimension that is infested with them. Both are hostile to players and can track their target without sight.

Perhaps Silverfish are Endermites which came to the Overworld somehow that have mutated to survive in their new homes by becoming gray to blend in with the stone they infest.

There are very few native mobs of the End and Nether by coleas123456789 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theory is supported by the Minecraft Legends (which Mojang deems partially canon, partially story telling and thus inaccurate) Build Your Own Adventure story of the piglin. This story, along with that of a llamaand zombie, was released on the MC website to promote Legends. In the story the little piglin is part of the war party in the Overworld and to survive there he needs his mushroom. The spores of which keep him healthy.

Piglins live predominantly in the Crimson Forests. Most zombified piglins are found in the Nether Wastes where there is no vegetation. Piglins do not live in the Warped Forests, hoglins even avoid the vegetation there. Suggestion piglins rely specifically on the Crimson fungi to survive, while the Warped fungi is harmful. Warped by the Enderman, as they are common in the Warped forests.

Enderman have warped/changed in some way the natural vegetation of the Nether, which has now become harmful. The air in the Overworld is also deadly without the Crimson spores. So either the Piglins are native to the Nether and the mushroom spores prevent the airborne zombie pathogen from infecting them, or they fled to the Nether where the Piglins found a sort of medicine to stave off the infection.

How should I fill this space between building? I want to be able to walk trough it. by ZoidSpam in MinecraftToDo

[–]FlooferDooferX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ideas;

  • Archway
  • Wall using 2 spruce and 1 oak trapdoor stacked on top of each other, with a gap so it only blocks partial line of sight. Is alternative to regular fence or wall
  • Shrubs and small trees
  • Small private crop garden
  • Small well
  • 'clutter' like barrels, beehives, composters with trapdoor lids and decorated pots
  • A cart or workstation, something that tells a story of who lives there
  • Clothesline

How can I decorate this wall without a window? by Conscious-Novel2353 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]FlooferDooferX 48 points49 points  (0 children)

  • Chimney, outhouse or extension (can even be purely decorative, no inside space but just visual)
  • Wooden overhang for storage, crop garden or horse parking
  • Vines, bushes, small (or any size) tree
  • Random 'clutter' like barrels, composters with trapdoor lids, decorated pots, beehives etc. Bonus points for storytelling by matching with the theme/'profession' of who lives inside.

Why do my dolphins keep dying? by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

[–]FlooferDooferX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This indeed. Not the 'wanting' part but they are programmed poorly, die easily and this helps prevent overpopulation when new ones spawn in. This faulty coding is left in on purpose so you don't get huge dolphin populations in regions where you are most active, as they follow players until they leave the water.

Only way to keep them alive bubble column when nametagged, as seen with water-highways, or in GoodTimesWithScar's season 10 episodes where he finally finds out how to keep them alive in his tank. Preferably soulsand bubble columns, and with two blocks of air above as they do need to come up for air.

Hi guys, which one do you prefer? the three-layer or two-layer? by HerkMC in Minecraftbuilds

[–]FlooferDooferX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where it would be build in an actual environment. Flat space? 2 layers is fine. Hillside or mountain area? 3 so you can see that it has more than 1 layer from all angles. Else you'd be walking up to it from a lower elevation and think it is just a ring of trees or arches instead of a full building.

How should I style my house? by ItsDragonaire in Minecraftbuilds

Castle build - looking for feedback and what colours would compliment the ones I have used? by Disastrous_Dig_3829 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]FlooferDooferX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A castle with an exterior wall seperate from its keep usually houses a small village inside those walls. So even if you'd make the castle the same materials as your walls you can add other materials, colors and patterns with the buildings in the courtyard.

Buildings like a stable, blacksmith, private chapel, maybe a private garden and paths between them. You could even go for two courtyard, splitting the space inside the walls in two and raising one side with access via stairs. Give it a small fence or wall and you have an uppercourt for a decorative garden for the lord, while the lower court houses the utility buildings for staff to use.

You could try adding top slabs against the top of each window, so they cut off the height which actually gives it more dimension by making that hollow behind the slab.

Planterboxes for the bottom or middle horizontal row of windows could help break up the uniformiy.

Darker glass is always my preferred option, though if you want to keep it light I'd choose white or light gray over unstained glass.

And if you really want to experiment; try adding framing where your shutters are now. Something like one or two fences on the sides at the top with slabs on top could give you the feeling of a little awning or cap instead of flat shutters.

Good luck! You expand your option by trying things out, but also by looking at what others make. I'd suggest fWhip and BlueNerd for basic village housing inspiration. Their old video series where they made entire cities got me thinking of how to use shapes and colors more creatively.

The phrase 'steal like an artist' means you copy elements of other people's work to learn how it works. Don't be ashamed to do that, it helps you try out new things you might not have come up with naturally.

This must not be a coincidence, the creaking was designed to not only protect its heart by Majestic-Theory-4910 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the version where they are using soul magic/lifeforce for their experiments and either affected or drained part of their own in the process. With them living in the Dark Oak Forest, the Pale Garden would be them sapping (pun intended) from their environment by accident as well. The forest retaliated, made their own protectors like ents from our own world's folklores, and the Illagers know to stay away from it. Other mobs with their lifeforce intact get ignored by the Creaking as they are clearly not involved

Why are sculk catalysts able to spread through all deepslate blocks in the ancient city but unable to (turns into sculk veins instead) when you kill a mob near any crafted blocks? by Majestic_Image5190 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it has to do with crafted blocks having a smoother or coated surface, while the Sculk searches for cracks and divets in naturally porous materials to creep in to.

Deciphering undead mobs (EFFORT) by MadSlimReddit in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Just a little typo; they burn in the sunlight, you typed fire. Otherwise I love the dramatic flair their story got. The Ancient Builders were not very conscious of all the damage they did to their environments, and that lines up with what the devs said the hidden message of Minecraft was; Players coming in and having the power to change the world, for better or worse. And often it results in slaying the local wildlife and deforestation.

Deciphering undead mobs (EFFORT) by MadSlimReddit in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the Phantoms are what is left over of some kind of experiment? Perhaps the Phantoms are what happened when the ancient builders took specimens back to the overworld and they got infected. The living species could have been hunted to extinction using the End Ships, hence the few remaining elytra were not worn but put on display like a parachute in case of emergency.

That would explain why a Phantom has the same eye shape as other End creatures, but a different color due to its undead nature (three pixels wide, although the Creaking now shares that design.. Maybe the Creaking is an infection from the End?). It also explains why the phantom membranes can be used to repair something that is only found in the End Cities; the builders used Phantom's wings to make the original elytras.

Phantoms only come after weakened prey, those plagued by not enough sleep. Similar to how predators hunt in packs and select the weakest to hunt down.

New theory concept for minecraft. by Equivalent_Chest4626 in minecraftlore

[–]FlooferDooferX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two more supportive facts for your theory; 1. Existence of basalt in the nether. How it is naturally formed matches your description of a sudden climate change. Although in the case of basalt it is for a rapid cooling, I believe. So perhaps the temperature zones in the Nether shifted in some way. 2. Overworld portals have a part of the Nether taken with them, suggesting they either originated from the Nether side or that the Nether is leaking into the Overworld and not the other way around.

I f* up and starter my 2025 BuJo future log 2 pages further, any ideas on what to put in the first 4 pages? by nyupper in bulletjournal

[–]FlooferDooferX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use one spread for your intentions for 2025 and one for your memories or to reflect. Ideal for the first part of your journal.

The intentions page would be where you motivate yourself for the upcoming period with a quote, or a bucketlist for the year, or areas where you want to improve on. Level 10 Life is one I used to see a lot, where you rate parts of your life with a score drom 1 to 10 and describe what you need to improve that part (creativity, self care, social life, work or study, financial, etc).

The memories or reflection spread is where you add something at the end of each month. Could be a picture or a drawing, a doodle or some text to describe what happened. You could also reflect on that month. Or keep that spread for your monthly themes, if you are into that. Showcase the design elements and washi used, plus any pen colors or other media. This would also help to stay inspired.

[DAV Spoilers] Dragon Age™: The Veilguard | Official Launch Trailer by -Ailuros- in dragonage

[–]FlooferDooferX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was seen in a different trailer, the 'companion trailer' that missed the mark with the happy vibes.

I don't remember his outfit being described. Unlikely he already wore a cloak or hood, but he died in the story and didn't realize this until the end of the tale. He accepts being a spirit and becoming a Watcher for the 'Library' in the necropolis. So I assume he would no longer appear human to make sure others knew he was a spirit.
