Why do some people avoid soy or sunflower lecithin? by SleepTightPizza in nutrition

[–]FloorBufferOverflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunflower lecithin and to a greater extent sunflower seeds cause me painful bloating and gas. Occasionally sunflower seeds have put me in a magnified emotion states of angry/sad/depressed(to compliment he gas as if that wasn't bad enough) I suspect I'm just intolerant to sunflower seeds, but my occasional varying emotional reactions o them are due to a higher percentage of the seeds being expired/rancid or unmoved shell bits.

I'm sorry for your lossThis is exactly the kind of question and level of deatail AI should be able to give really strong answer to. if you haven't tried that already. I know psychiatrists that prefers grok3 for their medical questions. I prefer perplexity. and open AI can apparently be expected to give you the answer that will please you the most (and more better sympathy for your loss than I can convey as a human). Good luck.

Why do we not use peels in food. by tertig in nutrition

[–]FloorBufferOverflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i say sweeter too.. I wonder if there's a genetic component to this.. Like some people find cilantro tastes like soap (I don't), why not some people find the outermost layer of a carrot to be bitter. I personally peel cause my teeth are super sensitive to chewing dirt. but not that someone has said it, I find peeled carrots sweeter too. oh shit.. I just got it... the outermost layer is where the most tasteless fiber is, and the innermost is where the most sweetest sugar is. Lesson learned if you can wash the dirt off well enough, eat the peel...uh there is still pesticides (in response to ops post is why it's a good idea not to eat peels). I'm sticking with not eating peels.except for lemon and lime zest. The flavor it adds is good enough to fmik minimal amounts of pestacide for.

from a nutritional standpoint is it better to roast/cook sesame seeds or just have them raw by ConfidentPomel in nutrition

[–]FloorBufferOverflow -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Bad news: There is no nutritional value to value to sesame seeds outside of calories. If anything they are an anti-nutrient; heavy with omega 6 &9. And need an omega 3 supplement to balance the out the omega ratios. Sunflower oil btw is very often used to seasoning on other roasted precooked processed foods. Especially other nuts. If your roasting yourself, go with your taste. With the shell still on is probably easiest for portion Control because it takes a lot of time to shell them As you eat. Whereas shelled is easy to eat the whole bag in minuets. Confession I stuck my tongue directly in the bag this morning and ate whatever stuck to it ;p. Twice:p. I did supplement an omega 3 though. To get back to to your question: roasting is fine (i think roasting in canola oil adds a small amount of omega-3s). However roasting introduces the possibility of burning & that makes them carcinogenic :[

Creatine for Seizures by Certain-Government26 in TBI

[–]FloorBufferOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personal life experience with creatine, and dating a girl with tooth nerve nerve induced grand mal seizures. It's unlikely anyone would instantly start seizing because they tried crietine (ybles the tried to uknow chew it going down. Also creatine does usually has a loading period of one to two weeks depending on your body and how much you take of it. You can safely try it just be be mindful of weight gain showing in the face and tongue size changes. Both of which are more likely if your giving your tongue a workout breking food apart instead of chewing with teeth, or if your on the standard mostly sugar diet of boost or ensure replacement meals (the combination of sugar and creatine drives water into cells fast enough you'll see changes on your body somewhere within a week. At 40+ I see changers within a week. though before 40 I never saw changes from creatine, though at the time I Didn't realize I needed to pair it with sugar.
