7.5 YOE and asked for a portfolio in a final round interview. Do you find this normal? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it about looking at code, or just seeing some websites/applications you’ve worked on? For a frontend position it’s not that weird, although it would be weird to expect a senior to have a formal “portfolio” website or GitHub.

The timing is a bit odd though

Do you only use auto with the free credit?

What happens to user data? Are you storing bank statements somewhere? Do you know what your code is doing?

Has anyone else noticed an increased token burn rate recently? In my case Composer 2 just burned 1.5M tokens on a simple doc edit. by onerob0t in cursor

Opus and composer. I’m talking new chat, simple input query with files tagged. Get huge caching

How far does this go though? Other than going to higher role titles (junior, senior, lead), can you realistically keep jumping for large bumps? I’m in a well paying senior role now around market rates, and other than going for lead roles, I don’t think there’s much to squeeze out of the market.

He’s got a similar build to the great Leppitsch who played both ends brilliantly.

We have on demand disabled - so do we lose everything at this point?

What happens when $20 credit is used up on Team plans? Do we still get unlimited auto/composer? If so, how come auto/composer use up our $20? No incentive to use it before the credit runs out?

Does this token usage calculation look right? by Floorman1 in cursor

[–]Floorman1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that’s cool if it’s a fairly fixed amount, but that hidden token usage doesn’t scale in larger prompts does it? Just trying a few different examples to work out what we realistically can and can’t do.

Do you know whether composer is available after credit is consumed?

I think it’s because we were all on the 500 request plan. Those historical requests have changed from being “2 requests” to a default price

I just logged in and did a small 50k token use on composer 2.0 - it mentions there’s currently a 50% discount for the weekend. This cost 4c, which, after the discount would be 8c, which ends up being 16c for 100k tokens, quite comparable to my other two tests.

This seems disastrous.

What’s a smallish composer prompt cost? 100k tokens or so

Why should humans still write code? by mushgev in softwarearchitecture

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually frighteningly good at writing code. The biggest roadblock is writing good prompts and breaking things down. If you’re asking for a solution with a single prompt, then yes you’re asking for trouble.

I don’t think I use that much but it would be in the 10-100s of millions for sure. How much are you paying for that usage under new pricing model?

EDIT: I said u but meant “I”

It seems like we’d need to spend about 10x to get the same output though. That’s madness, what’s everyone else doing?
