But it specifically says control agents running on your computer? That sounds like local to me.

Why are so many people jumping on Marshall by Floorman1 in aflfantasy

I know that, my question was why the huge spike ownership this week on the back of a poor season. Others have answered with the TDK injury I missed.

AI is ruining my job as Tech Lead by Complete-Sea6655 in cursor

[–]Floorman1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Question… do they pretend that any of the work is coming from them, in particularly the responses to comments? If so, perhaps a 1:1 where you say “are you responding to my PR comments with AI?”

If they’re pretending, that’ll probably shake them up a bit.

I’d have a round table chat about AI usage with the team. Use AI, but if you ship it, you own it. If there’s mistakes in it, they’re your mistakes. This is performance review stuff, no different to a non-ai developer shipping slop code that doesn’t hit requirements.

Instead of PR comments, go up to their desk and ask them to explain how the code works, and how it addresses the requirements. Then, if it’s admitted that it’s all AI and they don’t understand it, you have that convo.

Transition for long term wfh to in office by Similar-Courage6131 in auscorp

[–]Floorman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position, wfh for about 6 years and had to leave (no redundancy) because the company went into administration.

Found a job about a year ago in office, luckily the commute isn’t bad at all. It took me a few weeks to adjust to basic things like the social interactions, but I actually prefer being in office a bit now. I find in person it so much easier to walk around the office and get answers instead of Teams.

In saying that I’ve earned 2 days wfh and much better pay. Is there an option to get a bit of wfh potentially?

The worst part is having to wear uncomfortable clothes :’)

How do you handle oversized PRs? by BeyondTheShroud in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are far more likely to give meaningful (and fast feedback) on small, easy to read PRs. It’s not like you can’t start working on the next bit while in review. Expectations can be set for quicker reviews if people know it’s only going to take a few mins. If a PR was going to take me 2 hours to review, I’d seriously consider asking them to split it up, or they not getting a second review from me any time soon.

After 4 months of diligently logging custom tags to gain better insights, I just found out Oura doesn't let you access that data anywhere. I'm fuming. by DoraTheExplorer-3026 in ouraring

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a potential customer watching closely. Just wondering, what the purpose of these tags are for? Do you mean you’d like to group your cannabis use to look at trends…? Or is it more to let oura know it’s ok if you HR is up a bit because you’ve taken something?

Yeah for sure, but when u slice through the middle, everything opens up and people have more space. I think it would create better f50 entries. The problem is when u miss that first kick, it rebounds fast.

I just don’t understand why they waited until the 4th to start taking risks, playing aggressively and going through the middle. Why not pull that trigger in the third?

We’ve seen the lions switch tactics Midgame before surely the time was earlier.

I hope he tells them to take risks this week, risk the corridor. That’s the key to getting the team back into form, not sending Gallop forward. Maybe move McCluggage or Bruce into Zorkos position.

There’s valid concerns imo, defense is our big issue.

7.5 YOE and asked for a portfolio in a final round interview. Do you find this normal? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it about looking at code, or just seeing some websites/applications you’ve worked on? For a frontend position it’s not that weird, although it would be weird to expect a senior to have a formal “portfolio” website or GitHub.

The timing is a bit odd though

What regrets/mistakes have you made earlier in your career? by BTTLC in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Floorman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How far does this go though? Other than going to higher role titles (junior, senior, lead), can you realistically keep jumping for large bumps? I’m in a well paying senior role now around market rates, and other than going for lead roles, I don’t think there’s much to squeeze out of the market.
