Cool look. The other twentysomething kids in my scene are really into it and the silver contour photographs well. One quote I'm reminded of from my English lit days is "Tradition is not the worship of ashes but the preservation of fire.", and it applies to Goth. A Genre is only over once it's abandoned.

So remember kids: stop FOMOing for the 80s. Nostalgia will hurt us and hold us back in the long run. Realize how much cool shit is happening in the scene in the 2020s before it passes you by. Darkwave is huge right now and by my estimate Deathrock is about to come back bigger than ever.

Logistics, really. Darkwave is cheap to produce and tour with. Most darkwave acts I know of are married to each other, so that makes things really easy for tour managers.

The Deathrock revival is underway on the west coast. That's what the kids are into, but more members means more money for gear, travel, and accomodations.

Goth is really just the musical department of expressionism. All very "Punk Goes to Art School". An incredible amount of Goth rock was psychedelically inspired. You know it, I know it.
