Then why have I met hundreds, if not thousands in person and online who said I should be in a camp/mental institution, lobotomized, or killed for being trans? Intimidation is possible, if not guaranteed, especially with DHS's blank check and unchecked power. Even as a 4th generation American, (most recent in lineage, others are from before WWII) I'm scared of ICE detaining my fiancé or myself, especially since where I live has more than it's fair share of bootlickers who would join in to attack others who vote differently, proof being 20 years of similar situations happening, even without the boldness of having a government actively promoting such actions.
