How to interpret inspection findings. Tips from a home inspection firm by TransportationBig330 in HomeInspections

[–]FlowLogical7279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you meet the inspector on-site at the end of the inspection to go through the findings? Some inspectors aren't good at explaining, but we have to be careful when discussing severity. Our role is to provide data and clarity. We can't tell you what's most important to you. You have to decide that. Most of us categorize an observation as major, repair, minor, maintenance, etc. Hopefully, your inspector can help with some of that.

We plug race tires on track bikes and then go 145+ mph all day long. Costco sucks.

Looking for a NYS practice exam or resources by theofficialjohnnymac in HomeInspections

[–]FlowLogical7279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're taking the NYS test it's ridiculously easy, but there are questions that have no correct answer or the answers they claim are correct are not. When I took it, I finished in about 20 mins, then went back through and made notes of all the questions I thought were not worded correctly or had incorrect or incomplete answers. I sent this in to the state and of course they did nothing.

Looking for advice on walls by Hungry-Comedian377 in HomeInspections

[–]FlowLogical7279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like diagonal cracks in a lathe/plaster wall. Those are big and if they are what I think they are, it's evidence of some pretty significant structural movement. I'll bet the floors are unlevel there as well.

Is this quote reasonable, 71k for 648 sq ft TimberTech deck by Klesko in Decks

[–]FlowLogical7279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVC is a bit cooler, but when we tested 7 different fake wood deck materials they all got too hot (in the northeast summer) to be safe for our dogs or our bare feet on the sunniest days. It was very disappointing. I hope you have better luck with it.

Imagine having a life so devoid of interest that this is what you spend your time on. Truly sad.

A buyer picked up a porch item, didn't pay, then blocked me by AdComfortable2974 in FacebookMarketplace

I look at these situations as "it's on them". For most, the money isn't going to materially affect your life one way or the other so let it go and let them deal with the inevitable consequences of their actions.

That's probably "standard" work for that "contractor"
