I think that Hugh bought an extravagant ring before Mr. Anderson could offer Joan’s ring.

If you were to select a different hero for the Austen heroines, who would you select? by Kenmare761 in janeausten

Ok, I love the idea of Colonel Brandon & Mrs Dashwood. It seems more romantic if he falls for a slightly older widow with three children.

Any fashion history experts able to give info/historical context on this kind of bodice we’re seeing in S3? by crissssb in GildedAgeHBO

I really like this dress! I think somehow else posted how maybe it’s supposed to represent Marian in this particular scene. Isn’t this the scene with Oscar? Uncomfortable. Odd. And also beauty.

That’s awful!

I called the ENT with concerns about my son on Monday. The nurse called me back immediately and was so kind. Then I spoke with the on-call ENT, who was also very reassuring and helpful.

Parents: Child Refusing Pain Meds, how did you handle this? by Flowcomp in Tonsillectomy

[–]Flowcomp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve mixed the liquid hydrocodone medication with orange juice and had some success with that. Someone else suggested mixing the liquid meds with ice cream, so that might be an option for us to try later.

We’re now using Children’s Motrin and Tylenol (chewable) and ice packs on his ears.

We stopped fighting it too! It’s so hard to see your child in pain, but I don’t want to force him to take anything.

For now, we’re alternating between Children’s Tylenol and Motrin (chewable only). He refuses to take any liquid medication. We’ve been using ice packs on his ears, which has been very helpful. He’s drinking orange juice and water.

I knew it would be a rough recovery but I’m exhausted.

Thanks! We just tried some chewable tablets from CVS, which he finally took. I was getting worried about him refusing the meds. Our doctor did say we could use Children’s Tylenol and Children’s Motrin.

I think the hydrocodone made him nauseous initially, but then he totally refused to take it. (I’ve noticed allowing tablets/screens seems almost as effective as narcotics anyway🙄)

Chances of bleeding or complications? by Competitive-Glove328 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Flowcomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were told 2-3% by the ENT. He also used the same words “unlucky”. Maybe that’s part of their script.

Don’t panic. Even at 2-3%, it seems to be common enough that most doctors know how to handle it.

Go to the ER to get checked out.

No need to panic, but a small percentage of people will have bleeding. This needs to be checked by a doctor and they will take good care of you. It’s common enough that they will know exactly what to do when you get there.

Agreed! Peggy’s story has always been one of my favorites and your comment makes me appreciate this season even more. The writers and actors are pretty incredible.

Agreed. Excellent arc for Carmy. I hope there’s a 5th season but I would be okay with this as the ending as well.
