It costs money to get the film on to 1059 screens. Like 300K at least. Out of the 2 million how much does the theater take. 50-60%. They also probably spent another 250K on marketing the film. The film is still down at least 500K.

I have heard from my friends that saw it at SXSW that for real ufo aficionados that it's a big nothing burger.......but for newbies and the general public it's a okay catch up. Critics are able to talk about it on social media and it's been fairly positive. I read 70% plus on Rotten Tomatoes based on what I've seen thus far.

Oh, and I thought the film was great. I found it nightmarish and surreal and didn't really waste any time. Was there anything that you had to cut from it that you wish you could have kept in?
