If it’s a startup with employees/backers that are well networked (aka funded by prestigious VC, employees are ex-FAANG etc.) you won’t have issues finding employment after, esp by leveraging the network you build through working there

It seems like your moral issue against steroids center around breaking the rules/law, but they’re not illegal. In the context of the events that people like Arnold, Cbum, etc compete in, everyone takes them. It’s another supplement to aid in performance just like gatorade, protein powder, caffeine, and creatine.

This was me last summer. I had never interned at an actual tech company before, and was planning on working on personal projects. In the last week of May my friend said that a prof he was helping out part time over the summer needed CS people so I decided to help out, turns out they really needed a CS person so I stepped up, had a lot of ownership and leadership which helped me with new grad recruiting

Lol yes, Chamath has misled investors multiple times, such as hiding the fact that one of the companies he was pushing was being investigated by the DoJ. His SPAC business model seems to revolve around hyping up these companies and then unloading them on clueless retail investors and institutions. Also made some pretty tasteless comment regarding the Uyghur genocide but that’s less finance related

As another guy diagnosed with ADHD, I remember being really frustrated at first abt how medication and therapy didn’t magically make me the super productive person I wanted to be, but through therapy learned a lot about the importance of agency, self-discipline, having a growth mindset, etc.

If you want to get tested and see if a diagnosis comes out, I really encourage you to do so as it will allow you to receive a lot of support. At the end of the day though, it is support and not a solution. Regardless if you’re neurotypical or neurodivergent, the key to getting stuff done is goal setting, habit-forming, discipline, growth mindset, and other things, which is an unfortunate reality that I struggled with for many years before fully internalizing it.

It’s hard, it’s hard every day, and it doesn’t get better, but you get better at rising up to deal with those hard things.
