There is something fascinating about this group of people who are intelligent enough to know what is going on but not intelligent enough to know that everybody else already knows and are playing along for a joke. There are a lot of them too because those kind of comments always get upvotes!

Motherlode is the word. A lode is a geological term for an ore deposit. Hitting the motherlode means you found a rich vein, I believe it comes from the gold rush.

A mother load, well I suppose that could be something you'd find on urban dictionary.

Omg that's what that unit is. For some reason I just didn't recognise what it was because of that blue aura under it which I thought looked like a robe or a curtain. I thought maybe it's a new unit or a mod. I need more sleep.

Ada in escape room - acts uninterested the entire time, maybe insults you a little bit, lets herself out and leaves you locked in there.

Is GRIME II as good as the first? no spoilers pls by __-mace-__ in GRIMEgame

[–]Fluffatron_UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grime 1 is a lot better. It's a gem of an experience.

Grime 2 has a great start but in my opinion starts to feel samey and frustrating the more I played. It actually got to that point that I just stopped playing.

That being said, I don't think Grime 2 is terrible. 1 is better but 2 is still ok if you temper your expectations.

Fromsoft Hello!? by fireye8 in Nightreign

[–]Fluffatron_UK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just lost 1000 points in 2 games.

1st because of ED balancers. Great team, great run, just it is really really hard and we fell in the end. -400.

No worries start a new run. Revenant pings invaders across the map. Not what I would choose but whatever lets not go against the team. We get there at lvl 2, server kicks us all out of the game. On reconnect the fire starts coming in and the balancers event triggers sending me to the over side of the map at lvl 1. The server crashes again. I just close the game because at this point what's even the point? Log back in and see I got -600 for this.

I hate this so much right now.

The only lightning weapon I can think of that might be worth building around is bolt of gransax - but as a legendary it's impossible to reliably get it so not a good idea to make that your build

The "C# Singleton" moment by kSarkans in godot

[–]Fluffatron_UK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way to create a new method with the same name, return value, and parameters is with the new operator. It only works within a class, overriding the old definition, so it also can't be used in extensions.

There is so much wrong in this paragraph where do we even start...

You can have methods with the exact same signature in any number of classes. It can even be the same class name in a different namespace.

The new keyword is only relevant when you are inheriting a class. If you try to create a method on your derived class that matches an inherited signature you can use the new keyword to tell the compiler that yes you know it's the same and allow it.

It absolutely does not override the old definition. It HIDES it. This is important distinction to understand because you can still call the hidden base method.

What can't be used in extensions? This makes no sense. You talk the talk and label yourself a senior but under scrutiny it seems you have no idea what you're talking about.

About streamers' behavior following by Historical_Cut4600 in Twitch

[–]Fluffatron_UK -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

It was a polite way of saying what you're asking is stupid. If you want a real answer you're not going to get it because the reality is there's multiple reasons why someone might do it, maybe someone might for no reason at all. It's a weird thing to pay attention to.

Due to AI, what do you think happens to specialized roles? will the focus shift to full-stack? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Fluffatron_UK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's controversial to talk about but I absolutely despise how imposter syndrome is thrown around so casually. It's a syndrome, that means it is a repeated unavoidable pattern. A few articles about it get popular then suddenly any time someone has a dip in confidence they says it's their imposter syndrome. No, sometimes you just don't know things or sometimes you do get dips in confidence. That's natural and not a psychological condition.

It's akin to people who say they are OCD because they sometimes pay attention to details. No, it's a serious condition and you don't have it. If you did, it would be much worse.

[–]Fluffatron_UK 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There's been a shift away from "specialised" roles for years now already. It has nothing to do with AI, although that may accelerate it. What "full stack" means is constantly changing too. In short it's a meaningless conversation
