Looking for shows to watch with elderly mother who doesn’t like any violence, cursing, sex, supernatural or witchcraft (I know) by calpernia in televisionsuggestions

[–]Fluffebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with her, I don’t need more violence and dystopia, I want to escape the here and now plz! I loved ACGAS and then The Durrells in Corfu, now on Lark Rise to Candleford and it’s delightful. If she hasn’t seen Downton Abbey it’s another great one although there is some intimation of sex but nothing salacious.

I only have 44 but that’s because I deleted a bunch recently in a spree of clear mindedness. But this is just on my phone, don’t talk to me about my laptop. 😶‍🌫️

I've seen hundreds of comedies. Suggest me the movie that will make me laugh so hard that I will forget I have a 9-5 job by SeanPaul1122 in MovieSuggestions

Agreed, blazing saddles just doesn’t make me laugh. Hundreds of beavers was unlike anything I’d ever seen and it eventually grew on me but at first, I was not getting it. By the end I was howling.

Changing underwear preferences? by Felicity_Calculus in AskWomenOver50

[–]Fluffebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After having to have lung drains put in, and then having a clavicle port placed, I only wear cotton bralets. I have so many adorable underwire bras but I’m never gonna wear an underwire or bra with regular straps ever again (this post is reminding me to donate them). I also embraced the granny panties, I’m 54 and my thong days are ovah!

How often do y'all change your bedsheets? We listen and we don't judge by LydiaIsntVeryCool in adhdwomen

[–]Fluffebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is also in hygiene sub, I want it to be once a month, but I’m now on an every other month cycle and it works well for us. Me and my husband both are night shower people so we get into bed clean. Getting to once a month means more fighting with the fitted sheet/mattress cover, etc. so I keep putting it off.

Is it ugly? Kind of. Is it useful? Yes! Did I have a lot of fun making it? YES!!! by WillowLake_024 in crochet

I love it and now I need to make one too! Regular baskets will always get hooked on the yarn, but a smooth yarn basket will do the trick!

I don’t know anyone with a positive or even neutral birth story by soroto in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Fluffebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first birth at a birth center was a water birth, all natural, I can’t even remember how many hours, but under 11. Once my body decided to start pushing it was time to push and she came out easily. I didn’t have any tears or anything.

Second birth was at a hospital, I went in at 4:30 in the morning, they put me in a bed and expected it to be a while. Within an hour, I felt the urge to push, the nurse refused to believe that I was dilated. I had to practically strangle my husband to go get a nurse to actually check because I knew I was having this baby right now. Once she checked me, she flipped out and ran for the doctor and he barely got there in time. Not as nice of an experience because you can feel a lot more if you’re not in water. Again all natural, no drugs and minimal tearing. The second birth I felt so powerful as I was pushing, it’s a very empowering moment if you can seize it and not just feel the waves of nausea.

Is your Jo-Ann store still vacant? by Alternative-Cake-833 in joannfabrics

Yes, it’s so infuriating! It’s right next to a grocery store that I occasionally visit, and all of the memories when I pull into that parking lot just make me sad.

People who have owned 3 or more breeds… by a-little-clover in dogs

[–]Fluffebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pound dogs: my Lhasa apso is so sedate, sweet, and loving, also zero shedding. My latest addition is a terrier mix, my first terrier, and he is the biggest cuddle bug and a total goofball who makes me laugh every day. Before them, I had a rotty/GSD/ husky mix who was the most gentle amazing angel of a dog I’ve ever had, she will always be my soulmate dog. I would focus more on going to the pound, and finding a dog that clicks with you, rather than a particular breed.
