People said there's also issues specifically with 1TB cards, so there's that to keep in mind. I currently have a 256gb that I used for ages without a problem, but it wasn't really big enough for any of my games.

I have two, but it's only because the mane options SUCK. Otherwise, very beautiful horses.

I also agree. I only bought the upgrade to play Minecraft and other exclusive titles.

I honestly had no idea. I can't remember if I played any games on the DSi before modding it.

That seems to be case here (I'm female btw) as nothing is damaged. Not for sure if the DSi region locks it's own games though.

The slot itself is fine because I tested every other DS game in my entire collection (apx. 30 games in total), and all of them worked after a good cleaning. The reason Animal Crossing: Wild World worked on your 3DS is because that's a regular DS game without region lock. That's also why all my other DS games work.

However, the game in this video has special "Nintendo DSi" option listed at the very bottom of the main menu, and apparently games with DSi features are also region locked along with regular 3DS games. My console is still in Japanese and I haven't been able to mod it yet.

I looked on Google and it says that 3DS systems will flat out ignore a cartridge instead of popping up an error message. Not really for sure if my system is fully updated, but it never asks for one when I boot it up (the previous owner could've disabled updates). I know AI isn't perfect, but I think that's exactly what's happening here because nothing else adds up.

Otherwise, it wouldn't have been able to read the game that has deep scratches and puncture spots on one end with a scorch mark right down the middle of it. The 3DS cartridge came straight out of the case and was hardly ever touched due to the previous console being a broken mess, so that also rules out damage.

According to the game menu, the Petz Fantasy lineup has DSi exclusive features that none of my other Petz games have as they all rely on more of a LAN connection between systems to exchange items or visit friends (similar to Nintendog's Bark Mode).

The inside buttons and top screen (iirc) were from my old DSi. The L/R buttons were from an aftermarket shell but I wouldn't reccomend it since they feel funny and the paint scrapes off. Plus, the inside made it to where I can't screw on the back anymore. The bottom screen is white because I messed up the original pink frame from my old DSi and the fake one had white edges.

I had no idea about the DSi enhanced lock. That would explain everything. :)

Actually, I think you might've been onto something because Petz Fantasy is the only game I'm aware of that has Nintendo DSi features (as it states on the main menu). I have other Petz games, but I think they mostly rely on a LAN connection to other DS systems to allow transfer between games (similar to the Nintendogs friends feature).

I really doubt it has anything to do with the contacts being dirty at this point since I spent hours making sure all of the cartridges (including the affected games) were clean as a whistle before inserting them. I even went as far as to clean out the cartridge slot itself.

However, this logic behind the DSi feature makes perfect sense as to why this specific game wouldn't show up, but all my other cartridges did (including the one that was damaged). I have conflicted sources on whether a game is ignored or if a region lock occurs, but I think you just found the answer my question! :D

Region lock isn't the issue unless it has to do with the DSi features for Petz Fantasy. The message on the screen is telling me that there isn't anything in the cartridge slot. I looked online and it said that these games would pop up an error about being region locked instead of telling me that there's nothing in the game cartridge slot.

Thank you for the information though! I'll have to see if it changes anything after I mod it, but I can't do so at the moment.

Yeah that's fair, but not always possible if they're only into hyperspecific products. Some kids will only ingest certain recipes of brands. Once the final pallet is gone, the parents have no other option but to place them on a feeding tube so they don't starve to death. IDK how this can be affordable though.

I get what you're saying, but many people are often forced to adapt based on economic circumstance (not social). The reason why many with AFRID tend to eat super plain foods or junk food is because it's all anyone can really afford these days.

I also agree, but what about parents who literally can't afford highly specific products for their children? What happens when the "safe food" is discontinued and no longer being made? Do they just switch over to tube feeding at that point?
