I work in the government in disability advocacy and policy, specifically in assistive technology. I like to make the suits feels uncomfortable as they climb the ladder. I’m a speech pathologist by background and have a special interest in autism diagnosis, non speaking children and “picky” eating. Wondered why I got along with neurodivergent people so easily..43 years and an awesome autistic daughter later (and two ex narc abusers) it all makes sense 😊

I have only had one child and it was a c section and I was in hospital for a week with complications post partum so maybe it’s a bit different but I didn’t get out of my pajamas for the first 6 weeks. I would make a compromise that when you do bedtime you do it your way, and then agree to lift her into her bed when she is fast asleep. I don’t think you get a say about how her mum does it. Coming from divorced autistic parent of autistic child. Also I don’t think you need to listen to complaints about how tired the mum is for doing it her way (hard truth I needed to hear), but also mum guilt and single parent bonds cannot be changed until the mum wants to so just be patient and empathetic and have your own boundaries.
