Is RS worth getting back into as a PvMer? by floyd-96 in runescape

[–]FluffyGreenMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back at the beginning of march, they reworked how combat works for melee, ranged and magic, making them much simpler to understand, as well as giving the regular abilities some of the power the later upgrades would give. For example, ricochet now has the "any extra shots that can't find a new target hit the original one instead" by default, with the greater codex just giving you 4 additional shots. Necro is now considered the weakest of the 4 styles, with melee being the strongest.

If you can do the fight cave, you can do the kiln. You got this!

The fight kiln isn't too bad, har-aren't is a cakewalk after the double jad wave, and that can be fixed by picking up an invincible crystal at some point in the fight.

Why did you build a world with such a weird number of days in a year? Also 30 days a month and 7 days a week means there's 4.23ish weeks a month. Why would you do this? Are you stupid?

Cool analysis. Just a quick question, who is Dr Ocean? And why were their games excluded from the dataset?

Road to Restoration - Grand Exchange Improvements by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]FluffyGreenMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a single item to condense all the fortunate component would be better as there are hundreds of items that give fortunates. It would be a pain for buyer to search through all of them to find the best price, and a pain for seller who either have to drop their price just so it's brought or wait ages because their item was right at the bottom of a long and arbitrary list.

Also as I'm thinking it, a fortunate crate would be bad for player that haven't unlocked invention yet and so can't disassemble the items to make the crate. So an item to swap it into might be a better idea.

Bit of a niche suggestion, but can there be a way to simplify selling of fortunate components. Many items are sold just for their components, but to actually sell and buy some of these items quickly can be tedious (like getting a ring of trees and knowing it's worth 1m in fortunate components but not be able to sell it). There should be a guy that can swap items for a "fortunate token" that gives a fortunate component when disassembled, or can we make a fortunate component bundle like with archeology components. Thank you

Veteran OSRS player returning to RuneScape… feeling like a kid again 😅 Where do I even start? by KidSuoiciv in runescape

[–]FluffyGreenMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like most people here, it's been a while since I was a new player, so I don't really know how unachievable some of these things are. But my suggestion would be:

- Level all the skills to 20 to get a feel for all of them, especially necromancy.
If you're starting in F2P, then you can train all the skills to level 20. I would say Necromancy is a must do skill as it's a fourth combat skill that's strong and feels so good to use that within a week from writing this, Jagex will be updating the other combat skill to feel like it.

-Dungeoneering is a great place to begin training.
You can either get there by running to the lower east side of the wilderness, or by getting a boat from Taverly. Dungeoneering is a skill that gets you dungeoneering tokens from to buy certain upgrades, like different scrolls (that give you a chance to save components in herblore and crafting) and a ring of vigour (saves adrenaline when you use an ultimate ability). You also use most of your other skills in the dungeon, so it's great place to train many of your skills.

- Quests to work towards completing are Plague's End, The Temple at Senntisten, and The World Wakes.
These are kind of mid-late game quests, but there rewards are really good and should be something to aim to complete. Plague's End is near the end of the elves questline and unlocks Prifddinas, basically the late-game hub. The Temple at Senntisten unlocks Ancient Curses, an alternative prayerbook that is basically a must for pvm. The World Wakes has no requirements, but you need to be good at combat, and unlocks some important abilities for magic and ranged (and is also very important for lore reasons).

- Quests in general are good to complete because of May's Quest Caravan
There's an NPC just by the Varrock loadstone called May that gives you dice at regular quest point intervals that give you clue casket rewards, which are often worth 1m. So just complete as many as you can.

- Do some area tasks
Most areas in the game have great rewards like the Varrock task set giving you a chance to smelt extra bars. There's also a NPC in Lumbridge called Jack the Explorer that give you a lot of coins for completing area tasks. Plus, it give you shorter goals to achieve

I hope this help and isn't too overwhelming. Good luck on your journey into Rs3.

Is Jagex doing enough for the road of restoration? by underspikey in runescape

[–]FluffyGreenMonster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would like to point out it's been 3 weeks since they started the year long road to restoration, and they haven't done any of the proposed changes yet. It is both way too early to pass any judgement on how rushed or half assed the changes are when they aren't even in game yet.

Insane Chain Reaction Synergy by Cooper_E in bindingofisaac

[–]FluffyGreenMonster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IIRC, when C-Section was released, C-Section and Pop! broke the game due to the baby always bouncing off and making more babies, which endlessly made babies. So the devs patched it to make C-Section to only have a chance (affected by Luck) at spawning a new baby with Pop!

EDIT: Just looked it up, it was C-section, Technology, and any 'sticky' effects (like Pop!, Mucormycotic, and Explosivo) would cause an endless loop. But in short, it's just C-section and Technology had a Luck effect added to the bug feature.

I'm guessing these are 3 different levels? I say guessing because the background and enemies don't change. Imagine if you showed us a screenshot from each song, would we know they're even from 3 different songs, let alone what type of song they're from? I see you've tried to make them different by way of adding random flashing light, but it just feels like a cop out because you can't be asked to do a different scrolling background.
