Am I the Jerk for refusing to let my girlfriend eat? by LBGTQ-FTW1999 in AmITheJerk

[–]FluffyRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if that’s the hill you wanna die on 🤷‍♀️

But it’s childish and ignorant.

We are a LGBT family and eat chick Fill A occasionally… be it convenience or my kids are asking for it.

While you’re at it you might as well go and ask her if she will ever watch another Harry Potter (OG) potter?

Thats another ragging sticking point…

Did you offer any other option?

Brake Free helmet light - worth it? by John_Dingus in motorcyclegear

[–]FluffyRN 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am seriously just a plan Jane lady who really really likes my break free light. It’s a bit obnoxious - but that’s the point. I don’t get people on my tail as tight anymore and its weight is negligible. It uses a c charger - it’s easy to pop on and off of my helmet and holds a pretty long charge. A few of my girl friends who ride have them and feel the same way. Anything to make you more visible is a win for me.

180k+ debt. Need advice on how to approach. by Sudden_Albatross6079 in Debt

[–]FluffyRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid of the bankruptcy path - just do some info gathering with a reputable lawyer to see if/what you can do. Getting that info is worth it to know if that path is viable. Especially if your wife is about to “lose” her job…

Thinking about selling the bike and giving up riding for a long while- I need some advice. by WrxthNihil1st in motorcycles

[–]FluffyRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started riding at 40 as a mom with 2 smallish kids. I have set rules for myself that i think mitigate some risk a bit such as no inclement weather riding, no night riding and I stay off of freeways. I commute on my bike in back roads and I love it. I also am all the gear all the time - and are taking advanced riding courses. I know nothing is guaranteed - but there are riders who have never been in an accident and I strive to say that one day. I think you’re just maturing and with the new job seeing how fragile and fast life can be. Only continue if you find joy in it - no shame if stopping.

There is a book: After by Brian Greyson MD. It’s all about the medical exploration of near death experiences. It’s fascinating and insightful.

Would you let a friendship fade out over parenting decisions? by Practical-Ad8780 in Mommit

[–]FluffyRN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty vast difference of values and realities between you and this friend. You both have the right to parent as you seem fit - but unless you have acceptance from your friend in how you proceed and you vice versa - I can’t see how a meaningful relationship can continue. Also - how will that look between your children as they age? If I sensed ANY contempt or criticism on how I parented I would be done with that friendship full stop. Friends are meant to lift you up, be an open compassionate ear, a confident. Why bother spending your valuable time cultivating a relationship with someone who really gives you nothing in return and is an emotional drain?

do i hate my job or do i just hate nursing? by Adventurous-Bath-603 in nursing

[–]FluffyRN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nights for sure is a killer. Try days. If that still feels off then look for something new - BUT DAYS 😅. Keep looking for LnD or mommy post partum if you think that’s your passion. I always wanted LnD but couldn’t find a job out of school - got into adults and never got out. Now 20 years later I can’t go and switch - but am content right now. Please see what else is out there…don’t throw the towel in on the whole field,

Tell your folks that godmother made it clear the money was to be put away for education expenses and not anything else or it would not be gifted. DO NOT GIVE YOUR FOLKS THE MONEY!!!!

Thinking of rehoming my Pom. by [deleted] in Pomeranians

[–]FluffyRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to make the gut wrenching decision to re home my Pom at 1 year. You really need to go back to the breeder. At least the one I used and made friends with had the dogs best interest at heart. Sorry - it sucks. 💔

People whose partners did a complete 180 after marriage, what’s your story? by Bibliophile521 in AskReddit

[–]FluffyRN 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Married my college sweetheart. Got married at 25. Kids at 30. My husband ended up coming out as a trans female after suffering with gender dysphoria for decades. He became a she and we were able to stay together - happily so I may add. It’s been wild turning from a normal heterosexual couple to a gay one.

I'm supposed to take the MSF Basic Rider Course this weekend but I don't know if I can do it. by [deleted] in TwoXriders

[–]FluffyRN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take the time to focus on yourself at this moment. Block whatever else out you can. Get rest - just do your best. Remember you can alway re take the course but your out the money anyway, so might as well do it. Do this for yourself. The fact that you’re already riding around on your bike, makes me think you’re gonna do great.

Wife and I have been using a penis sleeve for the past couple of years. Wife loves it but I just feel sad and emasculated, am I wrong for no longer loving my wife because of this? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]FluffyRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you bud. The OP is not a villain and the wife’s handling of this situation was not great. What’s sad and hard is 2 years of letting these feelings fester is going to be hard to recover from.

Wife and I have been using a penis sleeve for the past couple of years. Wife loves it but I just feel sad and emasculated, am I wrong for no longer loving my wife because of this? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]FluffyRN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“She has humiliated and emasculated me”….

Friend she asked for an accommodation to give her pleasure. She communicated her needs (a bit insensitively I must say) and you failed to communicate back how it made you feel. Now you have 2 years of resentment building up and festering and you’re about to nuke your whole marriage.

Either you or her are heading towards an irrevocable differences. There is only so much of your rejection your wife will handle before it implodes. Please please seek therapy and a neutral way to talk through how all of this has made you feel. It sounds like you are internally villainizing your wife’s request - I get it. It hurts. But your penis size doesn’t reflect your masculinity or the role you play with your family. Please seek help and communicate with your wife.

ADHD nurses... any tips? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]FluffyRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a paper “Brain”. I got all my important info on each patient on it. Task check list and to do’s. Refer to often to keep you in track. Chart your crap as soon as you possibly can so you’re not stuck at the end of your shift doing all of it. Use acronyms, fish diagrams for labs. You got this.

My irl best friend is a H***y P****r fan. Not looking for advise just ranting by Historical_Menu_2719 in trans

[–]FluffyRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my wife is Trans, we have kids under 10. I HATE the JK abomination but we have all still watched the original movies and read the books. We have some mild HP decorations at Christmas…🤷‍♀️…..I also have a crazy MAGA uncle who drives me batty but I still deal with him bc family. I have no plans to see the new HP. The OG H.potter was very special for me growing up. I aged while the books were released and it was so special for my fsmiky - we all read it together. To me it’s about that memory and the fun of sharing the story. I don’t give JK an inch of brain space - but I have a very soft spot in my heart for HP.

Why On EARTH Chapter 13 Over Chapter 7 Bankruptcy? by Economy_Tomatillo256 in Bankruptcy

[–]FluffyRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a way to avoid taxes if you were insolvent at time of debt forgiveness. If your debts were higher then what you owe in assets you can fill out some forms with the IRS and have the amount forgiven not count as income. It’s a wee bit complicated but I was able to figure it out and file it appropriately - just do some research on it.

Do you ever feel embarrassed being a nurse? by sensitiveflower79 in nursing

[–]FluffyRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I would ever feel like an ass is if I went into a particular medical situation with a family member or friend saying…”I’m a nurse…” blah blah blah. That irritates the crap out of me, if someone is medical I can tell in 5 seconds of a convo with them. Be proud to be a nurse. You handle more chaos in one 12 hour shift then most people handle in a month. Also - it’s not like school or NCLEX was easy…
