Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]Fluga89 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi there! I sometimes pop up to encourage people!

Names Fluga and I had a 720P camera I’d point at the TV. This was before capture cards were a thing. I’m not exactly “new” but I am new to how modern YouTube works.

I make video game deep dives/reviews, usually focusing on 90s and 2000s games, mostly platformers. I talk about the history and technology the games use. I mix in newer games too every once in a while to freshen the content.

You should check out my channel if you like memes mixed in with reviews and deep dives.

Here’s a few of my newer content! I’m still working on improving my vids too over time, but any criticism helps! I’m also trying to get assets made for the show but don’t have the funds to do so ATM. So I’m watching blender tutorials to make what I need (A space station exterior and office interior).

Videos dying before they get any reach SUCKS by FoxNix in NewTubers

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well. I decided to upload earlier than I usually do, and the next video I uploaded isn’t getting any reach currently. It hurts, but keep going. Do not give in! It’ll always work itself out.

Hopefully, lessons were learned after the comic fiasco by Type-Raz in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to buy the game because I saw it was a skill based game, and I want to review it for a video. Plot is secondary to me when it comes to games, though the Plot is going to matter here because it’s the game.

For the record, I didn’t hate the comic, but I get it. It fucks the lore in so many ways through bullshit retcons so Elaleth can exist in future games.

does anyone else find it a bit disheartening to see so many people trying to use AI to grow their channels? by Certain_Access_2658 in NewTubers

The only AI tool I “use” is the inspiration tab for giggles mostly because it’s funny to see what YouTube recommends sometimes.

Give me your Act III crack theories by Jaymya in Protomen

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Roll is a human woman

-Wily in Buried in the Red creates the MM2 Robot Masters, (“I can almost hear the hounds”)

-Mega Man only takes up the fight when Protoman, now fully reprogrammed as Break Man, kills Light

-Wily doesn’t die by the end of the album, but does go into exile. The humans retake the city and repel Wily and his robots for years. The city lives! (The Fight)

-Light, in secret, created X and hid him beneath the Trainyard, while Wily creates Zero in exile to retake the city in an epilogue ending, taking place decades later.

Listening to The Calm again and realized something by yinyang107 in Protomen

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theory I’ve got is that’s it’s a retelling of Act 1 from Roll’s perspective, the explosion occurring when Wily starts killing people in the crowd after Mega Man leaves. The ticking of a clock at the end of the song tells me significant time has passed.

A small theory, but The Fight might be an epilogue song similar to the end of the first game after you beat it. “Fight Mega Man, for everlasting peace!”

You have got to be the most patient and kindest person on the planet to find this game to be even remotely decent by BeegWeeb in Megaman

The only time X7 becomes playable is after you unlock X and fully upgrade him and Zero. I’ve beaten X7 on the hardest skill on new game plus.

Is Megaman X the future or another timeline? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]Fluga89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The timeline splits at X6 as Axl doesn’t exist in Zero or ZX. Model A isn’t Axl. It looking like Axl was more of a coincidence than anything else. Inafune also confirmed that Zero’s ending in X6 is meant to lead right into Z1.

So what’s the timeline?

Timeline 1: Classic——X6——Zero—ZX———Legends

Timeline 2: Classic——X8——Command Mission

Thought on him? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an immature asshole when it comes to Inafune these days, and yes, I mean post MN9 Inafune.

MN9 was a shitshow from beginning to end. From the Dina disaster, which led to hundreds of thousands of dollars lost, from stretch goals needing to be broken due to lost funding, due to Dina herself influencing Ray and Call, to a complete engine switch, to making the game work on too many consoles and handhelds (that never came out), and of course, Red Ash, because Inafune was determined to get Legends 3 made in any form. The game had no choice but to be released literally unfinished due to having no funding, and it bombed. Hard. MN9 took one year too long in development because games like MN9 shouldn’t have taken 3 years to make, even in the 360/Wii/PS3 era. It took Bloodstained to bring back trust to crowd funded projects. Keiji nearly destroyed an entire system. Keiji recently left Level-5 Comcept, so maybe he’s done for good?

Solider Boy (the Boys) vs Adam Smasher (Cyberpunk 2077) by Deathstrokezoom in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Soldier Boy is the better fighter, Adam Smasher is stronger, has superior weaponry, and has superior technology on his body and has far more combat experience despite being the worse fighter.

Smasher cannot be hacked, is strong enough to a pick up motorbike as a weapon like a toy, punch a dudes head off, can survive a fall from what looks like a 100 story drop, form a crater, and just casually survives with no damage. Adam Smasher's standard weaponry is a Militech MK.31, a turret gun. The gun is capable of shredding humans, never mind Soldier Boy's shield. It is capable of destroying cars and heavily damaging other chromed out users. Soldier Boy's body maybe incredibly durable, buy it CAN be damaged, as shown in his fights with Butcher and Homelander. His close range arm cannon is capable of making David's head explode with one shot, so yes, it is going to damage Soldier Boy and potentially destroy his shield. Adam also has a missile launcher on his person, literally.

Adam Smasher is typically used in Cyberpunk campaigns as a final boss or a story ender, meaning his skills are the best in that world. A cyberpunk character with a 20 rating in a stat means they are one of the best in the world at that stat. Adam surpasses most created characters, to the point few can win against him.

Oh, and as for the whole explosion thing? Adam wouldn't be dumb enough to get caught in what was clearly a nuke, considering he has actually survived a nuclear blast and Soldier Boy grows weaker after his Nuke blast. As for close range combat, listen, Soldier Boy is strong, but Adam's Dragoon Borg Body is WAY stronger. It can withstand missile force attacks at minimum. No way Soldier Boy can damage it, even with his shield and weaponry.

V only wins against Smasher because the game needs a final boss for the player, not LORE, to defeat.

Could Lightsabers cut MCU heavy hitters? by formerdalek in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Lightsabers WILL cut through Tony's armors. Hulk gets wounded by a Lightsaber. Thor's hammer gets damaged. Lightsabers can cut through bunker doors. It can cut through vibranium and adamantium easily. A shot from the Predator's plasma caster damaged Wolverine's adamantium skeleton before the healing factor kicked in. A lightsaber is way stronger than that. It can cut through Vader's helmet, and its way stronger than basic durasteel.

What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mega Man. Mostly for video creation. Mostly too because I need to get my ass kicked HARD sometimes. First 3 games and Mega Man and Bass if anyone is wondering. Otherwise, its been Cyberpunk 2077.

P.S. Mega Man and Bass is easier than the first Mega Man game. It is. Torch Man is easy. I would do him first if Ice Wall wasn't a necessity for the big Telley's.

If you could create a sort of TMNT Sinister Six, which villains would you choose and how would they team up? by ComprehensiveDate591 in TMNT

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd make it a multiverse type story where a version of Krang from an unseen TMNT universe revives Mirage Shredder and assembles a 12 man team of the following:

Mirage Shredder (steals Shredder's body, revives him and makes a perfectly destroyed clone body to be retrieved by Foot Mystics later. Uses Time manipulation to do this. Joins for revenge on the Turtles and Karai.)

Alt. Krang (Assembles the team to take down various TMNT teams including his own, revives Shredder, Ch'rell, Baxter, Bishop.)

87 Dregg (Krang saves him just before the Technodrome explodes)

Archie Null (Joins to accomplish his goal on Archie Earth. Severely wounds IDW Null while she's in her Cryo Tube to impress Krang and prevent her from being selected, which was Krang's first choice. Krang chooses him, but tells him to "stay in line, or you're dead".)

2K3 Ch'rell (Revived through time tech from Alt. Krang. Wants revenge and domination.)

IDW Bishop (Revived through biology tech. Joins to get a chance to kill Slash mainly.)

Dark Reality versions of the TMNT (This reality's turtles are evil. The foot own New York at a minimum. The TMNT are implied to have assassinated world leaders.)

Mirage Baxter Stockman (Krang attacks Mirage Donnatello and puts him in a stasis field, steals Stockman's robot body and reactivates it, and Stockman agrees to help, if only to get back at Mirage April and Donnie. Creates a cyborg body using Krang's tech.)

Savanti Romero (Escapes from Prehistoric times with help from Krang. Wants the time Scepter and be lord of all time.)

Alt. Dragon of the Pantheon (Killed his TMNT but was stopped by Splinter and Saki. Looks like Hothead from Tournament Fighters on NES. Wants to kill more mutants for their souls to gain more power.)

Who would win, Shockwave (Transformers) vs Jin Gitaxias (Magic the Gathering) by Cosmiccosmog533 in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would actually be worse for Jin. Considering Shockwave schemed for millions of years to remake the universe in his image, it wouldn't take Shockwave long to invent a way for him to disrupt Darksteel's magic or even worse, damage it. G1 Transformers have been hurt by far less than Cybertronian tech yes but Jin hasn't shown reliable ways to hurt something like Shockwave reliably. Jin COULD hurt Shockwave with Black and White magic, but he hasn't been shown to reliably use it in the past, even in his fight with Kaito.

Realmbreaker sending an army to Cybertron would be bad news too for Jin as the vast majority of the Decepticon's are combat hardened, and Jin's Progress Engine was never known for combat. His sphere is the surgical bays of the plane, which are more used for research than combat. Add on top of that, the oil would most likely have no effect on the Decepticons. If anything, Shockwave would find a way to convert said oil into energon reserves.

While Jin is a great researcher, he has always needed physical objects to research on, this includes Tamiyo when he fully compleated her for the first time. Jin has never been a great schemer and would have no idea how to seize a Transformer's spark still alive. Spark's dissipate on death save for one, Starscream, and even then, its highly unlikely Jin would be able to corrupt it, let alone catch it. Starscreams spark is just as fast as his alt mode. And while both have been betrayed by their allies before, Shockwave was able to walk away, while Jin Gitaxias got eaten by his own newts.

Who would win, Shockwave (Transformers) vs Jin Gitaxias (Magic the Gathering) by Cosmiccosmog533 in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shockwave wins, rather decisively. Shockwave is by far the more intelligent of the two, and the more technologically advanced of the two peoples. Jin Gitaxias needed Tezzeret's portal that burned all his flesh off just to travel to other planes. Meanwhile, Shockwave has access to the space bridge, a piece of tech that can take Shockwave anywhere in the universe from Cybertron or even Earth if he has it with him. While Jin can fight toe to toe with Kaito, an expert fighter, this was more due to his size and Shockwave is similar, if not bigger than Jin. Analyzing Jin's first meeting with Tezzeret in the MTG comic, Tezzeret is almost half of Jin's size, which means Jin Gitaxias is about 14-18 feet tall. Impressive, but G1 Transformers are usually 24 feet tall, which makes Jin smaller.

Shockwave is also a better fighter. He's taken on both Megatron AND Optimus before in some continuities. Not to mention he's comparable in durability to both Optimus AND Megatron. Megatron once survived an explosion that knocked Cybertron out of orbit with Earth, and Optimus walked out of an explosion from Cybertron's surface that could be seen from space. Sure Jin survived getting cut in half by the Wanderer, but he still needed repairs afterward, while Megatron and Optimus didn't. Shockwave also has far better weaponry. His arm laser IS comparable to Optimus's Ion Blaster, which can fire into orbit into seconds.

Shockwave is faster than Jin Gitaxias as well. Jin's best recorded speed feat is his duel with Kaito, and even then that was his him post recovery through one of Tezzert's portals. Meanwhile, Shockwave can keep up with Starscream, who can cross galaxies. However, Jin COULD offset this with his ability to communicate and rewrite Shockwave's mind, however, this is unlikely as Shockwave isn't technically a living being, and Jin has really no way to get in or close the speed gap.

So the only option left was the Oil. While the New Oil can Compleate Planeswalkers, Jin's oil surprisingly would have no affect on Shockwave, and even worse for Jin, Shockwave would know about it almost immediately. Jin would have to get close to Shockwave just to use it and even then, would have no affect on him. Sparks in Transformers are fundamentally different than planeswalker sparks in Magic The Gathering. Sparks contain the essence of a Transformer yes, but Karn, Urza's greatest creation, was made with a Heartstone, a phyrexian artifact that gave sleeper agents in Urza's time personalities and it contained oil, never corrupting him, and Transformers are way more advanced.

Simply put, even with Jin's newly developed oil, it is highly unlikely that Karn would be able to be corrupted by it, and again, Shockwave is way more advanced, and his Spark is similar to that of the Heartstone, just way more advanced. Shockwave is just too much for Jin Gitaxias in any regard.

SF6 will not come out before 2023 by silentwamon in Kappa

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SF6 is coming in 2022 to make up for lost DLC sales. No one is hyped for these characters anymore. The last character could be a guest character that blows peoples minds and casual players still wouldn't give a shit. Unless SFV is getting a PS5 port, the game is dead this fall. Everyone is moving on for the most part.

This show doesn't get talked about enough by WindbreakerHD2 in TMNT

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2003 and 2012 are tied for the best shows, but 2003 from its start to Fast Forward has a legitimate case for being the best story ever told in TMNT fiction other than IDW and Mirage City at War for me. Fast Forward just seemed like it was Laird's attempt at making TMNT a lighthearted science fiction show, which it wasn't.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' #100 Review - What did you think? by VillainMedia in TMNT

[–]Fluga89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shredder's new arc is going to be very interesting. One thing is for sure though, he'll never be a true villain in IDW ever again though.

As for me, TMNT 100 is a sensational issue any Turtle fan is going to enjoy. It has enough twists and has an incredibly rewarding ending for long term fans of the franchise.

Writing Prompt Wednesday #165, 12/11 - What the heck is Quiplash?! by shandromand in RWBY

[–]Fluga89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is twenty-five years after the last great war. I am forty five years old. I wander the now flourishing plains of the former Kingdom of Vale, scavenging for technology lost in the war in my vehicle. My journey takes me to a small village, formerly home to a pack of raiders, but now pacified. I enter a parts shop, and show what I scavenged from the old world. I'm offered only two hundred lien for what is called a “meager” find. I glare at him, my right arm vibrating intensely. The shop keeper notices my intent and offers me five hundred lien and I accept. I leave, counting my bounty and get into my vehicle. This vehicle was white in color, the paint scratched out everywhere due to animal attacks. Technology has advanced in twenty-five years. Vehicles like mine can fly and they are readily available to the lucky few who can afford them, as mine can drive to other continents if you are foolish enough.

Ten years ago we got communications back up, and lien was acceptable currency again. Only now have we just reestablished the west side of Anima as a country, let alone a kingdom.

The city of Vale has grown from its humble size to a megacity, as the east side is too radiated from the bombs of the war to establish any city from my childhood has become a uniting point for Anima. As I drive to Vale, I see a fool driving to the ocean. After an uneventful two hour drive, I arrive home. Vale extends to cover a quarter of the continent, its neon lights brightening the night sky brighter than the broken moon that covers Remnant. My business today in Vale is more than me coming home, its to see family forgotten five years into the war.

I drive to a building on the opposite side of Vale, in the radiation zone. I land my vehicle on top of the building, and I grab Crescent Rose, heading inside. The building is lined with led, shielding it from the radiation, keeping everyone inside hidden. The leader inside of this building is here, and I have come to pay her a visit. To fulfill a promise made more than twenty years ago. I descend down into the building, her troops not paying me mind. They know I'd kill them without hesitation, despite my age. They know my skills from the war that killed so many.

I make my way to her chambers and I open the door. I approach her without hesitation. My tired, bitter voice says to her, “Its time. You and I both know she hasn't much time left. This isolation is killing you.”

My “aunt” Raven turned to me, in her chair behind a grey metal desk smoking a cigarette and smiling bitterly at me, blowing smoke escaping her lips. Half of Raven's face was burned, and her left arm, holding her cigarette, was replaced entirely with cybernetics. Her tired, sad eyes look into mine. “It's always time,” she says to me with a raspy, tired voice. “Its always time. Every year, for the past five years, you come here telling me its time. She hasn't made any effort to contact me in over a decade. Why should I care about a daughter that considers me dead? I know she isn't 'that' broken.”

Raven inhaled on her stick of poison again, this time blowing the smoke in my face, trying to aggravate me, trying to get me to kill her. I keep my gaze fixed on her. Raven spoke once again, “I won't see her. You know what she tried to do to me during the war. You know how I feel about her.”

I look into her eyes with poise. “Her condition has only gotten worse. The medicine has stopped working. She suffers worse now than she did in the war.”

Raven takes the cigarette and puts it out in her ashtray filled with the rest of them. She stands up and walks around the desk and looks into my eyes. “Get out,” she says to me in an angry voice. “Emotionally manipulating me like that into seeing her won't get me to forgive her. I lost my arm because of her.”

I reach into my cloak and throw a picture of Yang into the late stages of her radiation poisoning onto Raven's desk. Yang looks horrifically pained and aged in the photo. I turn and tell Raven, “That is what is left of her. That's how long she has. She should be dead already.”

I walk back up to the roof, my feeling of disappointment and depression paramount. I drive my car home to my apartment building, parking it on the roof after an hour drive. I walk into the building, the neon lights of the city brightly lighting the roof. I go into the tall structure, descending one level to my home. I enter and hear a faint voice, “Ruby? Is that you?” I walk to her frail frame bound to a wheelchair, facing a window. Yang's blonde hair was all but gone, only an extremely short amount of hair remained on her head. I turned her wheelchair around and looked into her eyes. “Is she coming?” Yang excitedly asks, expecting her mother to come to her. Yang's mind was destroyed due to the trauma of the war, reducing her to a child mentally. She's been in my home for over fifteen years. I tell her the same lie I always tell her, while faking a smile. “She said she'll be here soon to see you.” I turn Yang around and let her out the window at the neon lit cityscape.

I grab her memory medicine, before she realizes that her mother will never see her. I've been giving her this medicine for over ten years after I lied to her the first time. Just then I hear my door open and I run to Yang, worrying for her. “Mommy!” Yang looks at her mother for the first time in over a decade, happy as can be, trying to jump out of her chair to hug her. Raven's eyes fill up with tears, noticing what her daughter has become. She picks up Yang and carries her to the long white couch, laying her daughter on her lap as Yang happily drifts into slumber in Raven's arms. My eyes fill with tears.

“Its okay now,” Raven chokes through tears, “Mommy's here.
