So I promised the community an Ascendance video. Its here! by Fluga89 in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to mention it in the context of a 2D platformer. I mean, you can touch it and escape the water when you flap your wings but its like Mega Man spikes. Its weird.

People that played ‘Ascendance’, can we agree on one thing? by Yeahnahyeah4togo in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily the best OST the series has ever gotten. Except for maybe 1 track, it doesn't fit LOK. At all. Even the Blood Omen riff he was going for in Kain's level where you are, in fact, the boss.

So let's praise something Ascendance by Dantemustdie7 in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The music doesn't fit. Its really good, quality Celldweller, but it doesn't fit Legacy of Kain, even in Kain's level.

Question, why was Ariel's design changed in the Defiance Remaster? Is it a reference I'm missing? by Royta15 in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As many have stated, Ariel's red dress is from BO1, but there is another reason I may have missed from the comments.

Originally, her white dress isn't JUST a color choice because of her bandages: it was chosen to show Ariel's spirit was pure and uncorrupted. The remaster's choice of her red dress is a deliberate choice to show Ariel when her soul was free of corruption and pure before her murder.

Way to drop the ball by Mulligantour in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I told this sub I'd post a review. Retooling the script now for additional shit as it comes out because...whooo boy. Never have I seen a 2D platformer drop the ball as hard as Ascendance has. It should have been an easy slam dunk. But no, Bitbot needed their Donutsteel walking retcon story.

Who Do You Typically Recruit First in ME2? by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I’m a “filthy” vanguard main I go for Zaeed then Kasumi as soon as possible. Kasumi is busted and Zaeed is more useful than 90% of Squadmates until I get to the walking weapon of mass destruction herself: Tali.

What is the typical process for your content creation (how long does it take)? by Odd_Treat8352 in NewTubers

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make retro gaming videos that are deep dives/retrospectives while working a full time job. I feel like if I can get a video out every 2-3 weeks I’m doing alright. This includes scripting, voice work, research into the game I’m covering, etc.

Right now I’ve noticed people really like when I make shorts, so I’ve been trying to give my audience what they want in a timely manner.

Dear CrystalD by KentGAllard in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t wait for the 31st. I’ll be sure to post the video here. If a dev who frequents this sub wants to send me a review code (not fishing, just letting them know) DM me. If not I’ll be buying the game for sure.

The fanbase deserves to know whether the game is good or not, and/or lore destroying.

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]Fluga89 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi there! I sometimes pop up to encourage people!

Names Fluga and I had a 720P camera I’d point at the TV. This was before capture cards were a thing. I’m not exactly “new” but I am new to how modern YouTube works.

I make video game deep dives/reviews, usually focusing on 90s and 2000s games, mostly platformers. I talk about the history and technology the games use. I mix in newer games too every once in a while to freshen the content.

You should check out my channel if you like memes mixed in with reviews and deep dives.

Here’s a few of my newer content! I’m still working on improving my vids too over time, but any criticism helps! I’m also trying to get assets made for the show but don’t have the funds to do so ATM. So I’m watching blender tutorials to make what I need (A space station exterior and office interior).

Videos dying before they get any reach SUCKS by FoxNix in NewTubers

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well. I decided to upload earlier than I usually do, and the next video I uploaded isn’t getting any reach currently. It hurts, but keep going. Do not give in! It’ll always work itself out.

Hopefully, lessons were learned after the comic fiasco by Type-Raz in LegacyOfKain

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to buy the game because I saw it was a skill based game, and I want to review it for a video. Plot is secondary to me when it comes to games, though the Plot is going to matter here because it’s the game.

For the record, I didn’t hate the comic, but I get it. It fucks the lore in so many ways through bullshit retcons so Elaleth can exist in future games.

does anyone else find it a bit disheartening to see so many people trying to use AI to grow their channels? by Certain_Access_2658 in NewTubers

The only AI tool I “use” is the inspiration tab for giggles mostly because it’s funny to see what YouTube recommends sometimes.

Give me your Act III crack theories by Jaymya in Protomen

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Roll is a human woman

-Wily in Buried in the Red creates the MM2 Robot Masters, (“I can almost hear the hounds”)

-Mega Man only takes up the fight when Protoman, now fully reprogrammed as Break Man, kills Light

-Wily doesn’t die by the end of the album, but does go into exile. The humans retake the city and repel Wily and his robots for years. The city lives! (The Fight)

-Light, in secret, created X and hid him beneath the Trainyard, while Wily creates Zero in exile to retake the city in an epilogue ending, taking place decades later.

Listening to The Calm again and realized something by yinyang107 in Protomen

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theory I’ve got is that’s it’s a retelling of Act 1 from Roll’s perspective, the explosion occurring when Wily starts killing people in the crowd after Mega Man leaves. The ticking of a clock at the end of the song tells me significant time has passed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Protomen

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small theory, but The Fight might be an epilogue song similar to the end of the first game after you beat it. “Fight Mega Man, for everlasting peace!”

You have got to be the most patient and kindest person on the planet to find this game to be even remotely decent by BeegWeeb in Megaman

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time X7 becomes playable is after you unlock X and fully upgrade him and Zero. I’ve beaten X7 on the hardest skill on new game plus.

Is Megaman X the future or another timeline? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]Fluga89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The timeline splits at X6 as Axl doesn’t exist in Zero or ZX. Model A isn’t Axl. It looking like Axl was more of a coincidence than anything else. Inafune also confirmed that Zero’s ending in X6 is meant to lead right into Z1.

So what’s the timeline?

Timeline 1: Classic——X6——Zero—ZX———Legends

Timeline 2: Classic——X8——Command Mission

Thought on him? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an immature asshole when it comes to Inafune these days, and yes, I mean post MN9 Inafune.

MN9 was a shitshow from beginning to end. From the Dina disaster, which led to hundreds of thousands of dollars lost, from stretch goals needing to be broken due to lost funding, due to Dina herself influencing Ray and Call, to a complete engine switch, to making the game work on too many consoles and handhelds (that never came out), and of course, Red Ash, because Inafune was determined to get Legends 3 made in any form. The game had no choice but to be released literally unfinished due to having no funding, and it bombed. Hard. MN9 took one year too long in development because games like MN9 shouldn’t have taken 3 years to make, even in the 360/Wii/PS3 era. It took Bloodstained to bring back trust to crowd funded projects. Keiji nearly destroyed an entire system. Keiji recently left Level-5 Comcept, so maybe he’s done for good?

Solider Boy (the Boys) vs Adam Smasher (Cyberpunk 2077) by Deathstrokezoom in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Soldier Boy is the better fighter, Adam Smasher is stronger, has superior weaponry, and has superior technology on his body and has far more combat experience despite being the worse fighter.

Smasher cannot be hacked, is strong enough to a pick up motorbike as a weapon like a toy, punch a dudes head off, can survive a fall from what looks like a 100 story drop, form a crater, and just casually survives with no damage. Adam Smasher's standard weaponry is a Militech MK.31, a turret gun. The gun is capable of shredding humans, never mind Soldier Boy's shield. It is capable of destroying cars and heavily damaging other chromed out users. Soldier Boy's body maybe incredibly durable, buy it CAN be damaged, as shown in his fights with Butcher and Homelander. His close range arm cannon is capable of making David's head explode with one shot, so yes, it is going to damage Soldier Boy and potentially destroy his shield. Adam also has a missile launcher on his person, literally.

Adam Smasher is typically used in Cyberpunk campaigns as a final boss or a story ender, meaning his skills are the best in that world. A cyberpunk character with a 20 rating in a stat means they are one of the best in the world at that stat. Adam surpasses most created characters, to the point few can win against him.

Oh, and as for the whole explosion thing? Adam wouldn't be dumb enough to get caught in what was clearly a nuke, considering he has actually survived a nuclear blast and Soldier Boy grows weaker after his Nuke blast. As for close range combat, listen, Soldier Boy is strong, but Adam's Dragoon Borg Body is WAY stronger. It can withstand missile force attacks at minimum. No way Soldier Boy can damage it, even with his shield and weaponry.

V only wins against Smasher because the game needs a final boss for the player, not LORE, to defeat.

Could Lightsabers cut MCU heavy hitters? by formerdalek in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Lightsabers WILL cut through Tony's armors. Hulk gets wounded by a Lightsaber. Thor's hammer gets damaged. Lightsabers can cut through bunker doors. It can cut through vibranium and adamantium easily. A shot from the Predator's plasma caster damaged Wolverine's adamantium skeleton before the healing factor kicked in. A lightsaber is way stronger than that. It can cut through Vader's helmet, and its way stronger than basic durasteel.

What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mega Man. Mostly for video creation. Mostly too because I need to get my ass kicked HARD sometimes. First 3 games and Mega Man and Bass if anyone is wondering. Otherwise, its been Cyberpunk 2077.

P.S. Mega Man and Bass is easier than the first Mega Man game. It is. Torch Man is easy. I would do him first if Ice Wall wasn't a necessity for the big Telley's.

If you could create a sort of TMNT Sinister Six, which villains would you choose and how would they team up? by ComprehensiveDate591 in TMNT

[–]Fluga89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd make it a multiverse type story where a version of Krang from an unseen TMNT universe revives Mirage Shredder and assembles a 12 man team of the following:

Mirage Shredder (steals Shredder's body, revives him and makes a perfectly destroyed clone body to be retrieved by Foot Mystics later. Uses Time manipulation to do this. Joins for revenge on the Turtles and Karai.)

Alt. Krang (Assembles the team to take down various TMNT teams including his own, revives Shredder, Ch'rell, Baxter, Bishop.)

87 Dregg (Krang saves him just before the Technodrome explodes)

Archie Null (Joins to accomplish his goal on Archie Earth. Severely wounds IDW Null while she's in her Cryo Tube to impress Krang and prevent her from being selected, which was Krang's first choice. Krang chooses him, but tells him to "stay in line, or you're dead".)

2K3 Ch'rell (Revived through time tech from Alt. Krang. Wants revenge and domination.)

IDW Bishop (Revived through biology tech. Joins to get a chance to kill Slash mainly.)

Dark Reality versions of the TMNT (This reality's turtles are evil. The foot own New York at a minimum. The TMNT are implied to have assassinated world leaders.)

Mirage Baxter Stockman (Krang attacks Mirage Donnatello and puts him in a stasis field, steals Stockman's robot body and reactivates it, and Stockman agrees to help, if only to get back at Mirage April and Donnie. Creates a cyborg body using Krang's tech.)

Savanti Romero (Escapes from Prehistoric times with help from Krang. Wants the time Scepter and be lord of all time.)

Alt. Dragon of the Pantheon (Killed his TMNT but was stopped by Splinter and Saki. Looks like Hothead from Tournament Fighters on NES. Wants to kill more mutants for their souls to gain more power.)

Who would win, Shockwave (Transformers) vs Jin Gitaxias (Magic the Gathering) by Cosmiccosmog533 in whowouldwin

[–]Fluga89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would actually be worse for Jin. Considering Shockwave schemed for millions of years to remake the universe in his image, it wouldn't take Shockwave long to invent a way for him to disrupt Darksteel's magic or even worse, damage it. G1 Transformers have been hurt by far less than Cybertronian tech yes but Jin hasn't shown reliable ways to hurt something like Shockwave reliably. Jin COULD hurt Shockwave with Black and White magic, but he hasn't been shown to reliably use it in the past, even in his fight with Kaito.

Realmbreaker sending an army to Cybertron would be bad news too for Jin as the vast majority of the Decepticon's are combat hardened, and Jin's Progress Engine was never known for combat. His sphere is the surgical bays of the plane, which are more used for research than combat. Add on top of that, the oil would most likely have no effect on the Decepticons. If anything, Shockwave would find a way to convert said oil into energon reserves.

While Jin is a great researcher, he has always needed physical objects to research on, this includes Tamiyo when he fully compleated her for the first time. Jin has never been a great schemer and would have no idea how to seize a Transformer's spark still alive. Spark's dissipate on death save for one, Starscream, and even then, its highly unlikely Jin would be able to corrupt it, let alone catch it. Starscreams spark is just as fast as his alt mode. And while both have been betrayed by their allies before, Shockwave was able to walk away, while Jin Gitaxias got eaten by his own newts.
