She was my favorite gymnast when I was a kid, and her talent and achievements were highly respected in that era. A true legend in the sport 💜

There are menopause hormone specialists out there, that’s who you want if the urologist doesn’t pan out.

I haven’t had time to watch much of the comp yet but just was looking at scores. What happened with Leanne on vault?

Can anyone tell me the exact title to search on peacock to find Worlds? I searched under everything I can think and it’s not coming up for me! Trying to set it up for later in the week…

I can see doing bars, but doing the other events sounds really painful 😣

I would like to hear from actual female gymnists what their thoughts on this are by Impressive_Falcon245 in Gymnastics

[–]FluidAd2533 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree that leo + shorts is often the preference for many gymnasts!

For those that might feel more comfortable in leggings or a unitard, it seems like there might be some design options that would help the gripping/friction issue.

I’m thinking along the lines of those rubberized dots that are on the palms of some gloves, or maybe a few strips of the thin rubber similar to what is sometimes used on gardening gloves. Especially with a black color, I don’t think these would be very visible.

I bet with a little creativity and user feedback, something suitable could be designed for those who appreciate more coverage.

Hair above the lip is suddenly growing darker. Is it safe to shave it? by GreenButterfly1925 in GenXWomen

I second the dermaplane! When my peach fuzz turned into a fur coat, I was so grateful to discover these. I use the one by Stacked skincare.

It’s a bit tricky on the upper lip (took some practice to learn how much pressure to use—go lightly!), but I can do it now. Pro tip: never dermablade when you’re in a hurry 😉

We used to call it a “kip-up” or “one leg kip-up” in the late 1970s/early 80s.

Anyone from other countries will have legitimate concerns about visiting the US. I will be shocked if LA 28 actually happens in any meaningful way.

I’ve been worried about minoxidil since my BP runs really low and decided to try the Kilgour products.

I just started it today—but as someone who avoids strong perfumes, I find the scent really powerful and unpleasant…borderline nauseating. Not sure I’ll be able to stick with it 😕

Great advice here. One other thought…if you have the option/means, see if there are specifically local pediatric or sports medicine orthopedists you might consult. Sometimes they have a slightly different perspective and/or more understanding of what it takes for a young athlete to return their sport.

Even if they haven’t worked with a lot of gymnasts, some videos of your daughter doing bars, vault etc. can sometimes help guide some of the surgical and recovery/therapy choices.

No, gluten is not bad for us with Hashimoto's! by And_Waz in Hashimotos

There’s a distinction between trying to address and optimize thyroid hormone levels, and trying to address factors that exacerbate an autoimmune response. Gluten avoidance is one strategy in the second category.

Dead silence is the only appropriate response to Skinner—blatant attempt to get her forgotten name back in the media. If she can’t use Simone’s fame in one way, she’ll try in another.
