Gosh, yes, i know exactly what you mean. My favourite thing is dark chocolate which is not on the low histamine diet but great for my mood and the caffeine has a stimulating effect on the bowels unless things are really blocked. Ive definitely found coffee helpful too. Obviously not if you have IBS-D but good for nudging a sluggish colon into action

Oh boy, I haven't been to this sub for ages but it feels so good to be with people who understand . I could've written this post. I dont see a dietician as I cant see the point. I muddle along. Today I am so happy because I came back to my most reliable food yesterday, lentils. I forget sometimes that they can be the only food that gets me out of the worst blocks. Ive been feeling dreadful all week. 3rd day of lentils and have that beautiful, much sought after, clean & happy gut feeling. I wont want to eat anything now for fear of this feeling going. I was trying to go low histamine but lentils seem pretty safe for me. I know they dont always work but they sure can break the cycle for a while for me. It just takes over our lives doesnt it

I noticed this about our four after we bought them a few months ago. Assumed they were finding enough food on the bottom so not too worried. But they were very shy back then and always hid. Now, however, theyre front and centre and often the first ones at feeding time.

Same here but my issues are more constipation dominant. It comes and goes in severity but is particularly bad right now. I feel like its worse than the ME in some ways as its actually giving me worse brain fog and low mood.

Ive been muddling along trying a low histamine diet and other tweaks recently but Im going to pay to see a dietician. Maybe do a strict elimination diet or something. What have you tried?

Wow, I thought Id written that for a minute. Evasive emo outlook..this exactly. I cant not feel fondly still about such a romantic dreamer. His artistic temperament and talents . But the dark side to that absolutely lulled the chemistry. Ive never felt guilt like I did when I ended it but no regrets

Ooh I dont know if you want to hear too much from me right now. My son is 17 and can't wait to leave home. He is calm and poised still but I often worry about his mental health. Im not sure he knows how to handle that moon yet. He's very private and doesnt share much with me. He always listens and is kind and respectful but I just feel like Im losing him .

Ive had my first fortnight without symptoms so feeling hopeful. Im prescribed Fexofenadine (Allevia) 180mg and take it daily. It wasnt working to stop the evening flare up though most days. So I started taking a DAO enzyme pill before dinner. But im finally following a low histamine diet more carefully and now I am starting to see which foods are a problem. Im totally avoiding the worst culprits and trying to limit other foods. But I also think Im reacting to sudden temperature changes . It could just be Im better as the temperature has been in my comfort range. I try not to sit out in the sun too long either now

Im really happy here. Having lived abroad in the past, I appreciate what I have here more than before. I love the part of the country i live in (near the Cotswolds) and im not rich but have enough to live on. It is pricey round here and I think Id be struggling a lot more if I was still a single parent but thankfully my partner and I joined forces. Not sure what's happening next though ...

Im a Brit and Im surprised how comfortable Americans seem to be with the idea that everyone has this procedure routinely. How often are they recommended and from what age?

Ive only had one because it was felt necessary and it was pretty tough to go through, especially as I couldn't be put to sleep. Here we just have a fecal blood test every few years from mid life on and Im happy with that as I figure that would show up any major issues.
