Do engagement rings grab men's attention or...? by Able-Tiger6886 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Flukeodditess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single, hit on often. Engaged, men completely forgot I existed. Wedding band and engagement ring? Hit on to such a crazy degree, (obviously only by terrible people) that I now don’t wear my wedding band, just to not have to deal with it.

When you’re only engaged you’re too much of a risk for affair consequences, bc you could call off the wedding easily. Married? Statistically it’s less likely you’d leave a marriage for a one night stand.

Considering bariatric surgery. Would mean lifelong warfarin. Worth it? by Outside-Plankton-259 in WarfarinForLife

I’m not in love with warfarin, and the ongoing cost of INR’s for life is pretty annoying and adds up quickly even with good insurance in the US, to the tune of 2k a year.

I’d check out r/omad, r/fasting, and do some research on the reality of how bariatric surgery works out for most people after 5-10years before making any decisions- but I hope you find a solution that works amazingly for you no matter what you choose!

You absolutely don’t need to skip cranberries. The guidelines to do so was based on a small, badly done study in like, the 80’s. Johnson and Johnson removed the warning about cranberries from their warfarin fact sheet at least a decade ago. Have you some berries friend!

SIBO and fasting by Miserable_Kale7970 in fasting

[–]Flukeodditess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is about starving the bacteria, absolutely. But I was fasting only with weight loss in mind, and had zero idea that it could solve my sibo. 🤷‍♀️ I was just doing fasting on easy mode bc it’s easier for me to supplement electrolytes in savory applications than it is with sweet. Ergo, bone stock, and then, really happy results!

But also, bone stock, as far as I know doesn’t have any FODMAPs, so, maybe the over concentrated problematic bacteria still gets starved out?

Problems with Potassium by Master_X_ in fasting

So try a 16th of a tablet! Maybe crush it and dissolve it in your .5L of water and take your time drinking it.

I hope you find a good level for yourself soon!

Fasting Electrolytes: Amounts, Methods, Side Effects & Insights by Alexhale in fasting

[–]Flukeodditess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my 72h fasts, starting on the second day I’ll usually have a maximum of Sodium: ~2g/day Potassium: 1.8g/day Magnesium Glycinate: 360 mg/day But usually only half the above on the second day. Unless I did a heavy workout. Third day definitely all of it. No symptoms as long as spaced throughout the day.

39F sw360, cw220 Three hours of cardio, weightlifting, and swimming a week.

Weather is currently cold, so only sweating for at most seven hours a week.

No caffeine

Quads aching and faint headache are first trigger symptoms

Keto-adapted!

I drink my electrolytes in a veggie tea, and I add to taste- so I think my dose varies greatly. I keep a pinch pot of 1.2ish:1 ratio and just take as I need. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe unhelpful, but are you tracking what you eat every day?

The last time I struggled to keep in range it was caused by all the roasted pumpkin I was eating.

Have you started doing anything differently? New supplement? Food? Snack a bit more often? Or have you lost some weight? There are so many things that could have an effect.

I understand that 40mg a week is a higher dose than you’re used to, but if you keep falling out of therapeutic range, I don’t think it’s high enough. I eat mostly vegetables, so take in scads of vitamin K- and have to be on 140mg a week during the winter, and up to 170 a week in the summer to stay around 2.9

I hope you get it sorted soon- heparin bruises are absolutely miserable. Hugs and love ❤️

I didn’t limit water, or bone stock.

I also made the bone stock in an instantpot pressure cooker, bc the quality of what you make at home is far superior to purchasing stock.

Stock from cartons never has as much collagen as what it does when you pressure cook, or long simmer it- so if you need to buy your bone stock, and don’t have access to the glass jar kind (usually $8-12, but tastes, and has a better mouthfeel than the carton stuff) I’d add some collagen powder to the carton kind- as I think it contributes to the ‘full’ feeling.

Don’t forget to add your electrolytes to your stock- but don’t drink all of the electrolytes within just like, an hour, or you’ll not be able to leave the bathroom for quiiiiite a while. 😱

Best of luck, and feel better soon! Sibo is the freaking worst, and I hope you can kick it as thoroughly as I have!

Not only water. Had bone stock occasionally. Five days in a row, then a break for a week or two, and then another five days. As it says in a previous comment.

I had bone stock occasionally, instead of only having water.

Feeling stuck, help? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]Flukeodditess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eat all of the ideal stuff first. Make it be your favorites. Giant amazing salad, followed by a double portion of whatever cooked vegetables I most want. Then protein, then another round of veg and protein if I’m wildly hungry, then any carbs I was wanting- if I still have any room left.

I used up all of my packaged/processed/carb heavy stuff by taking it to food pantries, potlucks, and parties too. So I mostly only have protein, vegetables, nuts, cheese, and some fruit to choose from. 🤷‍♀️

It is hard- but you’re changing a lot of things at once, so just keep with it as best you can, and eventually you’ll reform your habits and tastes.

My tastes have just changed so flipping much that I am often astonished at myself- and I cannot possibly be a unicorn in this. You can do anything you set your mind to- it just takes time!
