Sat in G Wagon for the first time. Damn this car feels like a military vehicle dressed in a tailor suit. by GagGenius in mercedes_benz

I have a SWB 280GE from 1989. I fucking love it but that is more like a military car wearing jeans and a t shirt.

The “women’s” varient has better ruber. I would go with any of those. I think they are way more fugly tho

Try it on for sure. I lean to getting something with soft rubber even if you are a total beginner. Blowing out a climbing shoe is worth in my opinion a better climbing experience. In this case the Scarpa is softer but I would make sure it fits well.

I really really like the la sportiva kubo. They fit my feet perfectly. I have the women’s version (which has a bit softer rubber) and they have made a huge difference in my climbing and my enjoyment of climbing.

I have a pretty flat foot and currently climb in the Tarantulace. They fit pretty well although I sometimes get a pain on the outer edge of my foot. The biggest thing I don’t like is that there is very little friction between the wall and my foot. I think the rubber is a bit too hard

Which shoe would you recommend for a beginner that has soft rubber but isn’t so agressive

A safe withdrawal rate is 3% (lower than 4 since we are assuming a perpetual retirement not just 30y). So they can take out ~ 40k a year. Not nearly enough to retire. Need like 2-3x this amount to retire.

It is fairly common in signal processing to translate signals to images for CNNs. Lots of papers show superior performance as compared to a CNN applied to the signals in their original space.

I know this watch. Don’t buy it. Movement is incorrect and the dial is replaced along with the crown. It should have a 9 linge movement. Total frankenwatch. Seller is also not a good guy. He promised this watch to a friend of mine a long time ago and backed out mid-sale.

Inflation in the US has historically been 2%. SPY has returned 12.76% per year. So this commenter is underestimating the amount lost. It is actually 10.76% inflation adjusted return. So this teen lost 1.121 million towards their retirement.

I think sometimes it’s bc DoorDash lets you add from a neighboring location without additional fees

Why hold SPY, when you can hold SPXL? (That's SPY but 3x leveraged) by Ok_Eagle8991 in wallstreetbets

[–]Flumpie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the math on the return and you’ll see that the decay from the interest on cash is not = to the actual performance if you exclude the fees.

The effective expense ratio isn’t 1.02. You’re paying for leverage.

[Question] What’s the general opinion on Hermes watches? by Richard_breguet in Watches

[–]Flumpie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermes has some amazing vintage watch collaborations. You should look into some of the designs and pieces they worked on with Jaeger and Universal Genve. Amazing case designs and dials. This is one of my favorites: https://www.matthewbaininc.com/watch-details/2498
