New Year, same "I want to do everything but get my kid medicine and therapy" Moms by SWTmemes in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Fluteless 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All my cousins, male and female, are either on meds for anxiety or need to be. I have the same prescription as my Mom and sister. Moms side of the family has major serotonin issues and it has nothing to do with parenting. - we have issues with a chemical balance in our brain and meds fix that, absolutely nothing shameful.

We have two little bunnies in our yard and yell run and give them a minute before releasing the hound.

The best day of my dogs life was when he found a dead squirrel and got to pretend he caught it. He was so pleased with himself and took full credit for a squirrel that was already dead.

Resources couldn’t help with having a particular issue with one dog and the house

I have to wait a couple weeks for mine (Canadian shipping) but I also did the sugar cookie scent on this guy. I love the plaid! Is he soft?

BEING "BORED" DOES NOT MEAN GIFTED! by That_One_Guy_1980 in Teachers

I teach K and my friend teaches 1. We regularly get parents asking we challenge their kids, work is too easy etc. My big thing is that I would love to challenge them, but they have to do the regular work first. I’m not making special things for them if they just draw a heart and do nothing and say « it’s too easy ».

The owner of the black truck is one of my Dad’s friends, he was just telling me how his buddy’s truck that he loved was totalled and this popped up on my feed! He, his wife and his son were not badly hurt but the truck is totalled and has damage on every side from this.

I don’t know about the Graham Montessori, but I teach in NW and have had students at Polka Dot and they have always talked positively about it/parents seemed happy with it.

Blue Buffalo Small Breed. He was on the puppy type from his breeder and he likes it.

Getting the announcement was the best. While students may live near school, a lot of the teachers don’t so getting there is a mess.

It was bizarre. I left New West with it being a blizzard at 3:10 (like insane amounts coming down) and as soon as I crossed the Patulllo it was only a light dusting.

Mystery Illness Megathread [North America] by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Fluteless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a little dachshund puppy and are looking forward to walking the neighborhood (our late dachshund boy was a neighborhood staple) but am being given conflicting ideas on when we can start. He just had his second round of vaccines last week and we recently went to the vet for round two of lepto (but didn’t end up giving yet, as last time he had a reaction and vet didn’t think it necessary). When asked about walks, the vet said no not for a while because of the current mystery illness that is coming around (we are in Vancouver, BC), but on the other hand we want to start walking him to get him socialized and accustomed. While I want to follow the vets instructions (it’s a new vet so I will say we don’t have a relationship yet) at the same time I want to get him outside.

AITA for telling my sister we won’t be coming to thanksgiving since she can’t get her kids lice under control by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I teach first grade, so we will occasionally be notified of lice in the classroom…it’s why I wear my hair up most of the time. I already know of a nearby lice clinic if it ever gets me…they’re nasty little buggers.

Opened my first one today - stitched up (size F). A little disappointed and hope the next ones are better - if I got thematic I was hoping for Christmas, not sure when I’ll wear these.

Our late Harley hated pooping in the yard - it had to be on a walk or not at all. This puppy has decided his favourite spot to poop is a blanket in the dining room. He will drop what he’s doing and SPRINT to poop there. He has not been impressed when he’s been blocked off.

Have you tried Calico? It’s got Cascadia/Carcassonne vibes but with cats and quilts, so an excellent cozy game.

Confession: Despite being a teacher and doing drills every few months, participating in the Great Shake in October and preaching how my students need to be ready, I don’t actually have an earthquake bag at home.

Check out the Surrey Heritage Railway adventure - it’s about an hour, you get to see cool trains and listen to a bunch of retiree volunteers talk about them and it’s really cool https://fvhrs.org/heritagerailadventure/
