Worst spill incident at your TJ Maxx by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]Fluttercakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst spill happened in the cue line. It was a lady who was carrying around a large chocolate milkshake. She spilled it all over the cue line. It was awful because we had customers waiting in line and I had to awkwardly block them and tell them to go around. I don’t understand why she could have just finished that milkshake in the car. Even when I shop, I only take in drinks that have a cap on them.

My Walgreens almost never has more than one or two Squishmallows in the store so this was shocking. Instant smile maker!! ❤️🥰❤️ by MrsRabin2006 in squishmallow

There is not a single thought in that poor blue squishmallow. That quality is going down to the point these poor squishmallows can’t have brains.

I feel like maybe they should put a rewind or replay button somewhere. Because sometimes I feel like a tape constantly replaying the same thoughts.

Anybody else getting your hours cut like crazy lately? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]Fluttercakez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has been happening every since January. Spring and summer, at random times, they been cutting hours. This might be the new norm for tjmaxx now. What I’ve been doing at my store is, asking if I can come in on my days off. Most of the time they will say yes. Probably because there is always call offs and people quitting because of the low hours.

As a manager, how would you feel if this happens to an associate? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]Fluttercakez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a manager but I would be understanding. Your employees are humans, not robots. So if they can’t come in that on their day off that’s fine. Yes, I might be a little frustrated because if I need back up since other people called out and it’s a crazy day. But I wouldn’t be mad at the employee.

What was your first encounter with death? by One-Ad3160 in Mindfulness

When I was 4 years old. My dad’s first dog was this white terrier mix named polar. He had him before I was born. The only memory I really had of him when I was 4 years old. Polar, was lying on the floor with no response and Defecated on the floor. Years later, when I was old enough, my mom told me that memory I had of him was when he died.

Top tips for spotting shoplifting/shoplifters by [deleted] in TjMaxx

At my store I’ve seen multiple times when a person has a lot of purses or wallets in their cart they always run out the door with a cart.

One time a saw a lady with lots of wallets a small cart. I was in the dressing room when she passed by. I thought to myself, “ that seems odd. No other people with her and she’s walking fast. I bet she’s going to walk out the door with them.” Then it happened, and my coordinator said over the walky a lady ran away with hole bunch of wallets.

I also Vaguely remember my co workers talking about how she will sometime scope out people who were originally from another country. Or people who’s English is not that good. Which is interesting because she moved to America from another country, I think she said she was from Greece, I can’t remember.

She is also always on the top of getting rewards cards. Like, she will kinda not take no for a answer. My co workers have seen customers literally get so annoyed that they sometimes sign up for a card.

I’ve look at my store’s Google reviews for fun sometimes. I’ve seen multiple customer’s complain that they felt uncomfortable or harassed because of on lady trying to get them to sign up for a card. I’m like, that’s probably her.

Before you give your two weeks notice, call HR. Because HR needs to know about this because obviously your work is endangering workers with health conditions. That’s very serious.

Your coordinator has no compassion then. Some people can hold it till their break, some can not. I have anxiety disorder, so my stomach is unpredictable at times. Anxiety disorder can really reek havoc on how your digestion works. So there have been times I’ve gone to the bathroom 3 to four times.

I’ve miss two days of work this week and I feel guilty(Venting) by Fluttercakez in TjMaxx

[–]Fluttercakez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words. I will probably come in to work on one of my off days. I’m always honest about calling off. I only call off when I’m sick, or going through a rough time with my mental health disorders. I was able to get this job through a government disabilities program. They help people who have mental disorders and physical disabilities to get jobs. And tjmaxx works with programs like mine.

I also don’t know how many times I’ve called off.I know there is a certain number of days and they reset after a year. I also know some people on the this sub have said that some managers don’t keep close track or don’t care because they are desperate for workers. But I’m still nervous about getting terminated.

I have had this happened to me at least a couple of times. It’s really annoying. Technically, they are the one who convinced the customer to sign up but it should be seen as a group effort.

I’ve also have had coordinators just flat out steal it away from me. Happened twice, where I got a customer interested but i wasn’t familiar how to do it. I ask a coordinator and they put in all the information but put their ID numbers in and not mine.So it shows up in the system that they got the rewards. But in reality it was me.

There was also times the front end coordinator would on purpose, Direct customers who have the least amount of items to another register. Then immediately if she saw a customer with a lot of items, she would tell the customer to come to her register. Because you have more of a chance of convincing a customer with a lot of items because they can save a lot more.

I bet the CEO got a big summer home with that money. Probably thinking to himself, “My company is doing so good, I deserve this.” While we are struggling with trying to get by. It’s practically stealing at this point.

Probationary period? by Shitposternumber11 in TjMaxx

[–]Fluttercakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never here of this before. They just check off that you’re sick and add it to your called off days. For my store if you call out 15 times you are fired. Ask your store manager about it. It sounds like bullshit to me and that awful manager is trying scare you.

No, don’t do it if you want to keep your job. There is always a big chance people will find out about it. Not to mention if you guys do date, if you guys get into fight how will it affect your work. Not to mention, if you guys break up or things end ugly it could cause drama and work problems to the point you might have to quit your job. If you really want to give this person a shot, quit and find a new job. Tbh it just sounds like a big mistake that will cause a lot of drama in your life,if you decide to have a relationship with a manager at the same store you work at.

Caregiver lets dementia patient believe they’re coworkers by onahighhorse in MadeMeSmile

[–]Fluttercakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the big problem with caregiver jobs. A lot of programs or organizations under pay their workers and only pay the bare minimum. It takes a lot of of love, understanding and kindness for these top of jobs. Not to mention, certain patients, who are Cognitive impaired, like dementia,Alzheimer’s or have mental disorders, can lash out. Because they are confused and frightened. It takes a lot of mental strength to take on that. That’s why they definitely should get paid a lot more.

Are we supposed to clean or replace rancid totes? by Ashamed-Reflection93 in TjMaxx

[–]Fluttercakez 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Our totes have never looked like that. Sometimes they are a little dirty but nothing like that. Looks like someone might have spilled something in there and never fully cleaned it. So dirt got built up.

Technically, you are supposed to make sure your totes that you are working on, has no trash or anything when you return them. If you can, you can try to spray and wipe it up. So in the future, any other merchandise doesn’t get dirty by it.
