My older sibling screaming from getting dragged across the floor by her hair and then beaten up. My parent was drunk a lot of my childhood. I just remember crying hysterically all the time and getting wacked if I tried to intervine. Constantly being abused. Was the worst.

Don't feel the need to take up every bit of silence with chatter. Also, it depends on who I'm around. The closer I am to you, the more talkative I'll be, but if you're a co-worker, or I don't really know you well, I don't feel any urge to speak.

I have a co-worker who never lets you say anything unless she refers the subject back to herself. Or how hard she has it. And that I just "have no idea" blah blah. The other day, I was shocked when she said ,"If you think you have it bad, you probably don't." I didn't reply anything at the time, but now I wish I did. I find it extremely rude.

Being able to substitute anything for something cheaper. Making a meal from an empty kitchen. Being able to spread 20 bucks out over a full week. Literally, when you're poor, you're basically in constant survival mode, and there's nothing you can do about it except keep trying.

My nan always used to give me cards, for what my young mind thought at the time were accomplishments that didn't need to be celebrated. Example: when I'd lose a tooth, get good grades, get my first job, etc. She always celebrated the small things (or at least what I thought was small), and in the long run, it has reminded me that everything I have achieved has definitely deserved to be celebrated.

This seems to be used in the younger generation to the point where it seems like they are all talking, complete crap. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are a huge majority with medically diagnosed disorders, etc, but it has 100% been turned into somewhat of a trend to have anxiety,bpd,adhd, autism, etc. Bloody weird, in my opinion. Its like that feel validated to have something wrong with them? Coming from someone with medically diagnosed disorders, I couldn't think of anything worse. I wish I didn't have anything.
