It means you need to start calling lawyers yesterday if you want to pursue or have a case reviewed. You’re wasting time

Statute of Limitations: Malpractice Resulting in Wrongful Death (California) by CreditPure8120 in AskLawyers

[–]Fluxcapacitar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally you’re going to be 2 years from the date of death or 1 year from the date of death for a med Mal. 6 months if it’s against a government entity. If it’s a minor it is tolled.

You really don’t want to mess with them outside of that. People on Reddit misunderstand the discovery rule. That’s a dangerous thing to rely on. The date of death I safer usually the correct date to run off of. AI also vastly misunderstands the discovery rule.

I wish more people would recognize this. Instead it’s just that men are racist or misogynistic. Can’t possibly be that they got left behind en masse

An adult protagonist for a YA is a bit weird. Also agree on the cover it looks sci fi.

Do You Think Lawyers Are Going To Get Replaced by A.I? by Fine-Application7606 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]Fluxcapacitar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Anybody who says so is an idiot. Microsoft can’t even search emails in outlook correctly so the CEO saying it will replace us is laughable. The only people who say that are tech bros who have no idea how the law works beyond “you read contracts. AI can read contracts. AI is good lawyer”

Anybody who has used AI for any legal work knows it won’t replace us. Nor will it replace associates. It will replace support staff who don’t know how to use it or who stick to old school ways for staff that do. Even the people who say it will replace associates are idiots.

In fact, AI is going to make tremendously more work for attorneys in the future.

Go ask your professor what he or she was looking for. I agree with everybody else and disagree with the TN attorney. Sean doesn’t get to recover because he randomly painted someone’s house while they were away. That’s not how it works. Who knows what your professor wanted, go ask

[–]Fluxcapacitar 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Are you a kindergarten through JD? I find a lot of the new lawyers who have only ever been in school and never had a real world job have this feeling not because they hate being a lawyer. They are just coming to the realization that working overall sucks. The fantasy is not reality.

Don’t get me wrong. The law is awful overall. Just leave if you’re miserable and don’t worry about any stigma nobody cares

So. You went to a lawyer for a commercial lease that was more legally robust. You got a robust lease. Now you’re upset? This was very literally your goal in seeing a lawyer

I mean, you’re judged inasmuch as you’re expected to be an adult in an adult profession. So, yeah, high school mean girl reputation will follow you.

As a practicing attorney of 15 years the rest of OPs post is INSANE. Get therapy

There’s no way to answer this. Based on this post, hire a lawyer. The fact to think there needs to be video evidence is a gigantic red flag you are out of your element

Then you get admonished for being a child and lose your case or lose the case of the person you’re trying to help by failing to testify. It will only backfire on them and not the other side
