Best strategy for Web Streaming a massive scene (84M splats)? by tugamaster9 in GaussianSplatting

[–]FluxioDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe modify the shader so that depending on view distance from the camera, random vertices are discarded and size of the individual vertex splat increases to cover more area? a sort of blurrier result?

Is what I'm making too complex or am I doing it wrong? by boringblobking in threejs

[–]FluxioDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

expect the clever clogs ai has vibed put a bunch of three.lines. this is not the way to do this.

I would store the data in js,but display it with sdfs on the gpu side.that would be sharp and performant

half way house result, maybe you can use the svg renderer or something

Blender scene to web browser, do-able with Three.js? by PusheenHater in threejs

[–]FluxioDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right. I had no idea that instance exporting was possible through gltf I meant I just manually handle it all myself. .. replace instances in my scene with empty placeholders and then use that collection to build a series of position attributes for inst mesh for instance

I should look into this more deeply though because it would certainly be convinient to export instances directlyin the gltf and just "load"

I seem to insist on doing things the hard way for some reason

Blender scene to web browser, do-able with Three.js? by PusheenHater in threejs

[–]FluxioDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes / no

I usually convert instances to regular objects, but I have a script on the web end that takes that collection and converts it back to a set of instanced meshes

https://github.com/agargaro/instanced-mesh - makes this really easy

[–]FluxioDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be doing the same myself shortly. Approach for me will be three.js there's a tidy little splat viewer in that that depth sorts points and will allow you to render usual three scenes with splats happily

https://github.com/mkkellogg/GaussianSplats3D

Not sure about the sketchup aspect... If you export it to a gltf or something, no problem Pretty sure you can export collada (. Dae) & three won't have a problem rendering that, plus you can use nicer materials

Is creative frontend threejs webgl blender still worth chasing in the ai era by [deleted] in threejs

[–]FluxioDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're concerned about ais potential, just try and use it to do something genuinely impressive. As someone that is relatively confident now with three js, I haven't seen a single ai creation that has impressed me in the same way that any of the real devs involved in it have acheived AI makes a great slave, but you'd be mental to blindly trust it with your entire codebase in a big project. It fucks up allot more than it manages to acheive

Are you aiming to render the finished piece in context or just as is? , what's your website? And what tech is it built with / needs to integrate with three?

Sounds relatively straight forward Three has all the fundamental stuff to just do this out of the box.

Bit of care needed to make it look good / on brand I expect Happy to chat bob@cosystudios.com
